South Africa
Right you lot!! You wont need a gun for starters! ust stay clear fo dodgy areas, Jo'burg, centre of Durbs and probably the centre of Cape Town too. Same as you wouldnt go the the dodgy areas in the UK! Keep your windows wound up and doors locked. At night on deserted roads, dont stop at red lights either. Its a great place for a holiday, 99% of the locals are v friendly. Anywhere along the coast will be good to visit. Durban's harbour area has just been revamped and is GREAT! The Drakensberg is an amazing place if you like hiking. Defo go cage diving in Cape Town, a great white up close is probably the scariest thing you'll ever do!! You can go and see the whales off the coast too. Garden Route, Wine Route are spectacular. Knysna is lovey. Oh yeah, and everything Goit siad! I hear you're going NEAR Kruger, good choice as Kruger is VERY comercialised and you wont get the real 'African bush' feel. And the best bit, the :duffer: is cheap!!!! I lived there for 18 years and NEVER had any trouble of any kind. Just use your comman sense. Have a good one! Andrew

Car Cover?
I'm looking at getting a car cover for when I'm away on tour. Anyone recommend a good quality brand or supplier?? Asked for 2 quotes so far from places I've found on the net. It needs to be waterproof and breathable as it'll be on it for 6 months! Thanks for you ideas in advance! Andrew :) PS How long is the Zed???! Need it for when I order one!

Burst pipe!!
Rather different to Yampiedog.... Drove into London last friday and there was a lot of start stop traffic off the M4. Girlfriend said she could smell fish. Resisted the urge to tell her to shut her legs!!! :x: A while later I glanced down at the speedo, noticed the water temp guade wae higher that usual. Took ages to find a place to stop without parking on double yellows. Opened the bonnet and saw water pouring out of the short rubber pipe that runs from the top hard pipe from the rad to the engine. Just below and to the right (as you look at the engine) of the Dashboard water temp sensor. I let it cool down. IN the meantime I went off in search of a garage to get some bits. Eventually found a Halfrauds and got some pipe repair tape and a jubilee clip. Got it mended (sort of) after removing half the shin from my knuckles. Filled up the water and started it. I got a thin jet of water but couldnt work out where from as the fan was in the way and didnt want to loose anymore skin! Needed to get on the road back to Reading before the traffic picked up so I took off the headlight panel and the thick rubber strip from the back of the engine bay to improve airflow throught eh engine bay. Also I didnt push the bonnet fully closed, just left it on the catch. The car ran cooler on the way home, rather surprised! Got home to fine water dripping out of the burst pipe. More so after the engine is turned off. Now, after my story, how easy is it to replace that pipe??????? Its in a right bugger of a place. I know :ttiwwop: but I hope you can work out which one I mean! Cheers Andrew
