One Cylinder not firing...
Steams you are the best!...thanks...the PTU connector had popped off at one end...all sorted. Thanks so much.

One Cylinder not firing...
Just did the screwdriver test and the injector appears to be pulsing the same as the others...

One Cylinder not firing...
You're right on the coil pack resistance...checked it again and it's reading 0.9 Ohms (my mistake). Will check the injectors pulsing and post again. Thanks.

One Cylinder not firing...
OK...any sugguestions would be gratefully recieved... Please bear in mind I am not a mechanic or a technical expert. As I look at the engine, the middle cylinder on the left hand bank is not firing. So far I have... Swapped coil packs around and the same cylinder still doesn't fire. Swapped spark plugs around and the fault remains on the same cylinder Tested the resistance on the injector..it's 12.7 Ohms Tested the resistance on the coil pack..it's 0.7 Ohms Tested the voltage on the injector feed...it's 13.34 Volts Tested the voltage on the coil pack feed...it's 14.06 Volts (The coil pack connectors are brand new) The engine was replaced a couple of weeks ago and has been running like a dream until today. Any ideas would be very welcome... Thanks in anticipation...

She Lives!!!
Top work...I am no mechanic but since I got my Zed nearly two years ago I have learnt so much. I haven't attempted anything like an engine change myself but I have tried stuff that's way out of my comfort zone and when it works it's great. Many congratulations..enjoy!

Hopefully interesting "if you could.." thread
What a great thread...my contribution is... wheel change steering problem
If nothing else has changed apart from the wheels, I would start by checking that the wheels/tyres are not catching on anything in the arches. Check the side that it's pulling towards first. In addition, sometimes new wheels need spacers to stop them touching the brake calipers or suspension parts. On the subject of alignment...I have just had my Zed aligned on a brand new Hunters machine at our local tyre fitters and what a difference! It cost around £90 for all four wheels to be re-balanced and all 4 wheels aligned when back on the car. It now grips very well and feels really planted. Well worth the money. Hope this helps...

Getting old exhaust off...
How are you getting on? I am going to attempt the same thing this weekend, so I am keen to know!

gonna have a go at changing oil
Good spot Jeff, I didn't notice the "old" oil bit...

I,m nearly there finally !!
What a fastastic achievement, stunning looking Zed. Hope to see it at the JAE.

gonna have a go at changing oil
All good advice. I bought about 20 crush washers from Nissan at something like 50p each and I use a new one on every 3K oil change. The other thing I invested in was a very strong magnetic sump plug from Driftworks...it's scary the first time you use it and see how much gets stuck to it! I think the sump plug was a one-off investment of around £12and well worth it in my opinion. Good luck, after the first couple of changes you will be completely confident.

New baby arrival

Intermittent Steering Wheel Shuddering...any ideas?
There's no such thing as a stupid question when it comes to Zed's IMHO Sir. Funny you should say that, it was one of the first things I checked...just in case!

Intermittent Steering Wheel Shuddering...any ideas?
Thanks everyone...I had a feeling that it maybe the brake related, however I discounted that because it didn't just happen when I braked. ZedWorld know my car well, I will get it to them as soon as possible, brakes are one thing I am not going to mess about with. Have a great Easter all.

Intermittent Steering Wheel Shuddering...any ideas?
This is baffling me (especially with my limited knowledge of mechanics). At all different speeds I am getting quite a severe shudder through the steering wheel. The lowest speed I have experienced it is 29mph and the highest at around 80mph. To give you some background I have already replaced the following with poly bushes... Tension Rod Bushes Steering Rack Bushes (which was fun!) Anti-Roll Bar Bushes I am also running brand new alloys with brand new Falken's all fully balanced. I also think that the tracking is OK as my previous set of tyres had very even wear. Disks and pads look fine and all other bushes (as far as I can tell) look fine. I can not find any trend for when the shuddering starts, it will creep up from any speed at any time. There's no trend with engine revs, heavy cornering or heavy breaking and the handling seems spot on. However if I brake when the steering is shuddering, the vibration gets extremely severe (to the point of scary!). One thing I did notice was that after a recent trip out, the left hand front wheel was hotter than the right, however the car still breaks in a straight line OK. Thanks for reading, any help or advice will be gratefully recieved as I use the car daily and need to get it resolved.

Tyre surprise!
Just checked mine....oops...the inside quarter of both my rears has hardly any tread left! I will get them replaced asap. Excuse my lack of knowledge...but does this mean something needs adjusting and if so how?

Diesel runaround advice needed.
In addition to the Zed, we have a Megane 1.9dci turbo diesel as a family car. It's comfortable with a pretty good ride and quite happily does 45+ to the gallon on a run and 40 on short journeys. It's a 2004 and we bought it for £3000 about a year ago. They seem to be readily available and I guess now priced around your budget. Best of luck.

bt or sky for broadband ???
We have always stuck with BT since trying NTL a few years ago! I run our business from offices at home and I have always found BT bomb proof as far as service reliability. They are not the cheapest and in my opinion once you are set up the service works consistantly well every day. Could do with more Broadband speed, but that's down the the capacity of the digital exchange in our village. Personally, I would stick with BT.

Some pics with my new camera :-)
Fantastic Z and great photos. The car and it's colour looks really good against the buildings in the background. Top work!

just a little something ive done today in the garage..
Spooky...I started a similar thing this weekend. So far I have wrapped my rear spoiler and done the small black metal pieces up the windscreen and across the targa's. Having seen yours I think I will also do the bits of bodywork along the roof line too. I have never done this sort of thing before and struggled a bit with the spoiler but it looks a lot better than it did! For anyone thinking about doing it, with a bit of patience you can get a really good look. I got my Carbon Fibre vinyl from http://www.carbonmods.co.uk. Top work sir!

Grey Z in Raunds High Street late morning today
Saw you parked near the bank, gave you a wave but it looked like you were on the phone..

standard boost gauge j spec needle position
Hi, I had a similar thing when I first bought my jap spec TT. Jeff at ZedWorld found a monumental vaccum leak and as soon as it was fixed the gauge now reads a healthy -7 on idle and +7 when boosting. Hope this helps.

Kart racing.
Hi, We are just about to in 2011. My eldest son Charlie (14) has passed his competition licence for Rotax Karting. Your eight year old daughter can start in MiniMax Karts and start with an experience day to give her a feel for it. We used ProTrain who are excellent, they will give her some coaching and provide her with the Kart and all the gear for the day. It would mean a trip to Whilton Mill in Northamptonshire, but I am sure there would be other locations nearer Doncaster offering a similar thing. Here is the link to ProTrain so at least you can get a feel for what's out there. http://www.karttraining.co.uk/ Best of luck.
