burning oil smell and smoke from back of engine bay, does it do it all the time or just sometimes? its a plenum off job, not that bad in its self and you get to do a water bypass as well which lessens the split hose worry, wouldn't take long to do, just make sure you either have water hose for the bypass, or enough to renew the tiny ones that go on the underside of the plenum. Depending what rocker cover it is, will depend on the time involved, one top ones are easier to get off, the outer ones are a little bit harder but not impossible, then just a case of renewing the rocker cover gasket and putting them back on. Hicas light, could be a drop in power steering fluid, top it up might just of had a bit of trapped air still in the system that its just released. How did she get on at jeffs?

You dont need to strip the dash out to do the manual conversion lol, but the by pass is easy, just join the two heater matrix pipes on the rear of the engine, that go through the fire wall, you dont even need to move anything out of the way half the time to get to them.

still in the car, but removing engine and gearbox this weekend if it stays sunny, can dig it out then. dash has already been removed so already have a head start lol

got a decent heater matrix in my blue zed bud.

only a major boost leak would cause that, and that would be very noticeable as the car will want to cut out a lot and blow lovely nice black soot out the rear. he could always pull the small pipe off the balance bar and hide it somewhere, then take it, that would get his reading down past 5% but doesnt really solve what the cause is. SO what would the cause be if lets say, No cats, all boost pipe work is tight and no leaks. no one seems to be mentioning what could cause it, hence be able to fix it for him.

So building on this question then what is going to be the most likely source of high C0% then? for anyone else who reads this in the same situation, apart from pulling the pipe off the balance bar to get the reading down, how would you go about curing the issue? and what are the causes. One further question, but to the OP, do you have a cat back stainless steel system, or is it a complete OEM exhaust including cats, reason i ask, cats could have been gutted if its a aftermarket rear system. 5% seems way too high with cats on unless they are fubar.

traveled 677miles to go get my first ever 300zx including a ferry trip to the isle of Uist in the outer Hebrides, blew the engine on the way home. lol

check the print out for the emissions, did they put it through as a non cat test? and also check to make sure its actually been tested as a 300zx, if its gone through as a cat test then they need to retest it, these cars are NON cat test.

did you remove the OEM dump valves and if so, check your bungs to make sure they havent fallen out. also check all intake pipe work to make sure they are tightened down and no unmetered air is entering the system, pay close attention to where the dump valves where fitted, sounds like you have Air coming into the system from somewhere other than the airfilter. as for photos, click the attach image button and upload one that way, or you could use photobucket.com

Sure i had that pipe on my N/A manual, was plumbed into the break booster.

Manual balance bar, can tell from the little pipe coming off the end cap on the left hand side of it, that's the vacuum for the clutch master cylinder. tt or NA wouldnt matter, it would fit both as they are not TT / N/A spacific, you can use it on either a manual or auto though, but would need that end pipe capping for a auto. Water pipes top and bottom, again not model specific.

depends what they are, a good set of 10 x 50 are a good pair, but with a wide field of vision, might just look like a tiny dot, tracking with a telescope is going to be even harder due to the speed its traveling.

Its not just a iphone fault. Try a reset, hold the home button (round button on front) and the power off button with the phone on, until the screen flicks black, then leave both buttons and just press the power on button, see if that gets them back. Failing that you are going to have to wait until you are back at your computer. When was the last time you plugged your iphone into itunes on your PC, that will determine the last time it backed up your data, as it does this every time you plug it into itunes if you have left it set on automatic. As for iphones are shite, samsung had the exact same issue so this isnt just iphone specific.

i got some all weather sealant (apparently for cars) from halfrauds, may as well of just left the targa roof off, think i would of got less water in the damn thing, doesnt seal worth a piece of crap, will get a photo of it tomorrow so people can stay clear of it. sticks to the rubber but not the metal, think its just too cold out their for it to set properly and get a decent grip on the metal.
