heavy white smoke, car sounds like a subaru and lots of oil in the exhaust
try the coil pack test. there is obviously something wrong with the engine if its running rough. a turbo would not cause that, unless the spindle has shattered on the intake side and thrown bits of turbo into the intake valves. Also remove the turbo inlet pipes and check for oil. only other thing i can think of why your getting oil in your pipes is due to piston failure. but i still think it sounds like HG failure with a rough running engine.

Injectors/Coils/plugs/ = missfire
no on the filter, you can relocate the PTU to near the battery area, but you will have to unwrap the wiring and re-route it, the most common way of getting rid of this over heating issue, is to get a series 2 PTU with harness.

heavy white smoke, car sounds like a subaru and lots of oil in the exhaust
from experiance of a blown turbo, it sounds nothing like one. Lumpy would indecate that a cylinder isnt working, most likely loss of compression between two cylinders, blue smoke would indecate oil, white is water. check your radiator for water. just because there is loads of receipts, doesnt mean that it didnt over heat before he pulled it, and that the HG has failed. When my golf GTI blew its HG between 2 cylinders, there was no warning. it just went from driving fine, to losing compression on cylinders 2 and 3, it shook the whole car. and the engine sounded rough as old nails. check which cylinders arnt working, by pulling the coil pack plugs off one at a time and replacing them, till you find the one that DOESNT make the engine die / sound worse.

Injectors/Coils/plugs/ = missfire
If you smell fuel, then i suspect the injector is firing, but the spark isnt. PTU is a sliver box, that sits on the drivers side timing belt cover, with 2 cables connected each side of it. follow the cable to the passenger side, and it will connect to the main water pipe entering the engine for the water temp gauge and water temp sender, then if you carry on following the cable, it will pass the CAS unit on the front of the passenger side timing belt cover. one plug.

Injectors/Coils/plugs/ = missfire
Could be PTU or MAF related, check plugs and clean as necessary, recheck coil pack plugs, there is a orange plug grommet, if this isnt seated correctly can interfere with how well the plug - plugs in. (unless yours are missing like most), also check the CAS plug as well. Some info on spark plugs though. Nissan OEM PFR6B-11B "6" Heat Range should be used for stock turbos up to 15 Lbs of boost. "7" Heat Range: Stock Turbos (15+ PSI), Sport 500s. 530s, & 600s. Great for street use. "8" Heat Range: For those who race at high boost levels and any upgraded turbochargers. Good for nitrous as well. Great for street use. "9" Heat Range: Race use only! Great for high boost and nitrous use. Not recommended for daily driving.

sounds like HG failure, check the rad for a mayo type look, also check the oil filler cap.

Injectors/Coils/plugs/ = missfire
miss fire could be attributed to the plugs. NGK make specific plugs for standard TT and N/A's they are slightly longer so the spark end sits further into the cylinder to help ignite and stop you getting det. If you want to find out if your injector is working, start the engine, get a long screw driver, put it on the injector cap, then place your ear on the end of the screw driver handle, if the injector is firing you will hear a rhythmic clicking. TT spark plug code = PFR6b-11B N/A spark plug code = PFR6G-11

looking 4 a zx
welcome, best thing to do, is have a look around the forum, plenty of advice and knowledge going about, don't be put off by all the posts about this not working and that not working. most people tent to post when something is wrong, not when its working right lol But the best thing is. if it does go wrong, always someone here to point you in the right direction. there is a buyers guide around here somewhere (think its in the FAQ area) i would venture in there my self, cept I'm allergic to it.

its obvious the guy isn't English, his grasp on the English language isn't the best, but at least hes coming across honest. Plus there are 2 zeds there, not just the one, if you removed that god awful front bumper, and got it a respray, it would be a nice car. As for the red one, it sounds like hes confused, first he says its a shed, then he says its too good to break, then goes onto say its good for parts? so what is it?

mpg
my red zed that Big_Jim now owns, used to get 14 to 16 mpg around town with stopping and starting, and around 25 to 28 on a motor way journy. if you nailed it everywhere, it would give just 8 to 9mpg. so it really does depend on how you drive it.

Am i one or not...
yes Richard your registered as disabled, and with your leg the way it is, you wouldn't be sponging if you decided to claim incapacity benefit. you also get the use of using it to park on double yellows as well (for up to 3 hours). You also do not have to pay the London congestion charge, as long as you register 10 days before your planned trip to the capital, you also do not have to pay for certain toll roads, again you will have to apply (not sure who too mind you) in advance of your planned trip.

They are subscription services matey. I cant stand AVG, it slows down system start, and does impact online gaming with its constant file scan usage, though not as noticable now with a high end rig as it used to be, i usually put AVG on peoples PC's who ive sorted out viruses for in the past. its good but not as good as some of the paid for ones.

 and that is the key just there. afraid to say it, but most viruses are distributed through porn sites. Im the same i have a dedicated porn site that i know is safe as old houses. and only streams it as well, so nothing to down load I used to use mcafee's at one point as it was actually pretty damn good. then went to panda, but found that although it has a faster scan time, did tend to hog resources. i now use Shield Deluxe 2011, as it uses the least system resources, is easy to use, and uninstalls easy as well. very good program to be honest.

No offence, but Norton's gives false positives about a lot of things. it likes to look like its doing something, just wait till you get a real virus, it wont have a clue what to do with it. Last time i ran Norton's on my PC, and got a virus, it wouldn't quarantine it, or delete it or do anything with the file, in fact Norton's didn't have a clue how to deal with it. so i went and got a real virus scanner and dealt with it. That site doesnt flag anything up for me. and the last time i had a virus was back in 2005.

yeah they look like rotas, well the front do, the rears seem to have a different hub style to the fronts, which rota's don't, if they are genuine rota's they retail for £750+ for a set of 18" with out tyres. http://www.rotashop.co.uk/rota-gtr_c33739_32466.htm
