  1. Problem with reliability especially now the oldest of the z32 is 21 years old. is things are starting to go wrong. so unless you know for defiant that the zed you are buying has been well looked after, the likely hood is, your going to be paying a lot more on sorting out age related problems. The likely hood you will get a well looked after 300zx for "cheap" is highly unlikely. its a bit of a lottery with buying a zed unless you get one that has forum history and is easily checkable. Id explain owning a 300zx as a enthusiasts car. due to the fact that you will buy one and will be repairing it in the first few months of ownership.
  2. Tea im a earl gray man, love the stuff. as for coffee, nescafe for me, but do like a nice starbucks americano But if going for the creamier coffee, evaporated milk in coffee instead of normal milk for me.
  3. yeah i know, especially with the build up of condensation in one of them
  4. ooh no, not into the carbon fiber look, especially when its fake, as it would stand out a mile when close and just look tacky.
  5. possibly the best panoramic your ever likely to see quote about the below website from Astronomy picture of the day Anyway, i present the milky way galaxy like you have probably never seen it before. enjoy, i know i have. http://media.skysurvey.org/interactive360/index.html original post (love this website) http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap110520.html
  6. tbh mate, having been down at the car till it got dark trying to decide on it. im going to fix it up, spray it black and stick it on the car. as much as everyone has said go blue with the spoiler, it really does look god damn sexy black, and is a break from the normal colour coded look that everyone seems to go for. at least its the same but different if that makes sence. i dont want a "by the numbers" Zed. i want something a little bit different but not over the top.
  7. paper work and a contact number of the place that did it would be a good start. at least you can check with the company that supposedly did it.
  8. i want to do the roof bars, but not sure about the borbon bonnet matey. i do how ever have a black bonnet in the garage i can stick on to test lol
  9. the sweet sound of someone fishing for a thank you
  10. you will need to use the S2 wiring diagram that graham put up matey, as the looms are different wires colors from the S1's
  11. Now not sure whats going on here, but this is the only car I've had where people seem to butcher the electrics. My first zed seemed to have butchered front light electrics which caused a live feed problem to the head lights. so had to run a separate wire from one headlight live to the other to rectify the problem. The second zed i had, also had a issue with electrics where the wing mirrors had been snipped at the mirror end. third zed i owned has a problem where someone had wired in spot lights to the front bumper, with that much cable that by the time id removed it all and got the engine bay back to what it looked like, i could of rewired a 747 with what was left. not to mention a few random switches in the cabin that where hooked up to nothing lol forth zed didn't matter as that was being broken Now my current zed. wing mirrors didn't work, so looked at the fuse, all ok there. but upon removing the center gear stick surround to get to a wire i needed i found that the switch to the wing mirrors had just been chopped? the plug was still in the wing mirror adjustment switch, but it had just been cut? also there was a switch down near the gear selector that i hadn't got a clue about, so i followed the wires that had been routed under all the arm rest trim, across the gap between the arm rest and the rear seat and into the boot. it then went around the ABS unit and under the plastic paneling. following this along bought me to a black wire earthed against the bodywork and the red wire from the switch leading down through a whole drilled into the boot floor of the car, underneath, there was just two wires dangling about under the car, that i can only assume was for the fog light that no longer was there. Now strange thing is. its a UK spec car so already should have all the wiring for the rear fog light. (ill be checking this as i need to now wire in a new fog light some how) Anyway ive removed all excess cabling. and have a back up wire for my rear fog off the breaker in case. the other thing is. the screen thats installed covers over the radio loom, that has also been cut so short, that if ever i needed to plug a new normal stereo in, its going to be one big ass ball ache as ill have to rewire all the cables. why do people butcher these cars electrical so much?
  12. its such a hard choice, i love it either way. i think the black spoiler look gives it a more aggressive look over the same color and for some reason when your at the car. more modern look
  13. this is why i put a post up, but anyway for full effect
  14. matey if your standing at the car, i know you would be in two minds as to have it black or the same color as the car, i wanted to fit it the same color but having seen what it looks like with it being black on the back, it does match the light cluster and goes really well.
  15. i know what your saying, i don't usually like them off, but then i put the spoiler on for the test and when your standing at the car, it looks the dogs nuts in black against the blue.
  16. thats what i was thinking :D looked awesome still black when i put it on.
  17. having received my 99spec today and tested the look of it im actually very impressed with the results of what it looked like so instead - Vote time lol Spoiler on spoiler off
  18. i must have a down graded engine then if the 3litre v6 was standard in every 300zx apart from the one with turbo chargers. wonder what engine i should of had then? the mind boggles.
  19. strange thing is, mine and artztogos used to be gun metal gray lol
  20. A Single BOV will still do the same as Dual BOV's as long as both intake pipes are connected to it, it will open when the throttle is closed to Vent excess pressure in the pipes and make that PSST sound, and close when you open the throttle.
  21. Your best bet would be to get hold of Jeff for a new S2 ptu, if it needs changing, then dont bother with a S1, it should have a harness already, pretty simple to change, remove both turbo pipes and then using a ratchet spanner (8mm iirc) undo the 4 bolts holding it to the cam belt cover. (bottom one is the worst as the top radiator pipe is blocking it if using a ratchet and 8mm socket) then take the metal retaining clips off and put somewhere safe. get your new PTU and plug in, if its the S2 with the harness, just plug and play to be honest. then you can either remount it where it came from and tuck the extra wire somewhere neat, or relocate it for easier use. PS thanks, about time i used one of my cars as a sig lol
  22. Thats just like you daz, pre-wrapped incase anything goes wrong. always be prepared  ooh, nice zeds
  23. you will know if you can hear the clicking from the injectors, but to me sounds like early PTU failure. more than likely if its the same PTU from when you brought it round mine, then its a S1 and would be a good idea to upgrade it anyway. You need a looong screw driver, or any long metal bar to be honest thats small enough to get on the cap of the injector but long enough to get your ear on. place the end on the cap, and stick your ear on the end, you will definitely hear a clicking sound. but doesnt sound like injector to me. When i had accidentally plugged my S1 PTU at a strange angle, she idled fine. drove fine. the moment you put your foot down. felt like the car was attached to an elastic band and had a few big loud pops out of the exhaust. very hesitant and then died. restarted worked fine until trying to boot it.
  24. you only have to undo the steering rack bar if your taking the gearbox out with the engine, which i presume you did. considering the gear box oil comment lol PS. if you get gearbox oil on your clothes dont put them through the washing machine expecting to get it out. all you will do is end up soiling the other clothes you put in with them, and for any other clothes on the next few washes after. (well had that happen to me with a brand new washing machine when i did my engine change and gearbox out job on the first zed i owned)
