ahh bugger - plus what to delete
i suppose the best question would be, what kind of drill bit do i need, i know ill need one smaller than the stud, so i can hopefully collapse the rest in on its self saving the threads. Come on someone buy my retrim kit so i can replace my drill

i want to see if i can get it out first before having to resort to taking the turbo off, dont want to run the risk of snapping a manifold thread. (and the fact the two back bolts hold the turbo on are a pain in the ass to get too lol) but if all else fails, ill post them too you bud.

er....how am i going to get too you with the car off the road due to no turbos on it, i cant drive my car with the current engine in, as its got a hole in cylinder 6, and only 1st and 2nd gear, plus no plenum lol :)

I could but my drill is fubared at the moment, and with limited fundage after just getting a new engine and gearbox  bad timing, hence "bugger" in the title

The ones from the exhaust side of the turbos, to exhaust down pipes.

well yeah, but also 5p size hole in cylinder 6 doesnt help lol Havent a clue about the oil filler cap, was already on the car when i got it. Uploading some pictures now, but they snapped quite far into the turbo housing. ill have spare turbo housing when i get this engine out of the car, though i for see a problem, manual turbos on my new engine, and auto turbos on my current engine.

Loads of oil in the plenum, also loads in the intercooler pipes, something doesnt like the oil being in the engine lol

Am indeed, i want to tidy up as much of the engine bay as possible, dunno why someone left the cruise control in, there's no OEM steering wheel with the controls on it so thats going lol Anyway, plenum is now off the car, what a fun job that was, but found a nice hidden surprise. it already has EGR blanking plates on it, though the EGR is still bolted to the back of the engine so naturally assumed that it hadn't been deleted. going to give the plenum another polish before it gets put onto my new engine, or get it chromed if i can find a good place to get it done. going to put the old plenum off the new engine on the one in the car for lifting purposes. Still need to know what to do about these snapped elbow bolts :crying:

Cherry red 300zx in Kensington
looks supprising like my old one when i first got it, those style of alloys look very similer as well. fantastic colour.

ahh bugger - plus what to delete
new engine is here, so thought id get cracking on removing the EGR, anyway noticed that my turbo elbows had studs snapped with not enough on them to get a bolt on when it comes to putting the exhaust on. So decided to remove the elbows while i was there, to replace with the ones of my current engine, the two nuts holding the elbow on at the bottom, came off easy on both sides, the two top bolts on both sides how ever, just snapped with little to no pressure being applied. so now the only way i have of securing the elbows is with the lower bolts. Short of taking the turbos off and changing the housing over for the outlet and as im crap at drilling things out, what are my options? :( (PS although i have a drill, its a bit crap at the moment as the charger broke for it so i cant charge it up) Also what can i safely remove from this side of the engine, it seems when reading it from the forum i understand what needs removing, but soon as i get to the engine, it all looks a bit confusing lol

clocked cars - selling illegal?
feck knows what happened with my blue zed (one in sig) MOTs from 2009 show the clocks at 89k miles, then from 2010 onwards, its showing 575k miles, so not sure how it did over 450k miles since 2009 to 2010, i think someone was trying to clock the dials and mucked up to be honest. been changed now for clocks showing 101k miles which is about right.

Don't you just hate arrogant ebay sellers....
I know what you mean, its the listings like that, that i tend to avoid, also the stupid ones that start with L@@K? Then theres that stupid saying "first to see will buy" like you dont have a choice in the matter? or when they type in excessive LARGE FONT IN BOLD AND CAPS, like you cant see the text on the screen. Aaarrggghhh!

Customer support emergency - how far do you go?
think of word of mouth, if your prepared to put your self out, thats the sort of thing people remember when someone wants the same services you offer, but it also works both ways, if you dont, it could seriously go against you. so id say, get an early night lol

Getting old exhaust off...
only time ive needed heat to get an exhaust off, was the down pipes and that was just to get them started, other wise as mikey said, spanner on, foot on spanner, hold on for dear life and push with your feet, make sure your going the correct way lol (lefty loosy, righty tighty) But with a breaker bar they tend to undo. If its a nut and bolt, you want one spanner on the bolt end and wedge it against a block of wood and the body work, and then use another spanner on the bolt end with your foot.

Getting old exhaust off...
spanner and a long tube, enough to get on the end of the spanner and get a bit more leverage. or get your self a breaker bar, one of the best tools you can own with a zed.
