  5. i used to breed tropical fish in a big way some years ago . used to supply many of my local aquatic shops with fish. you should have at least a dozen neons and for some real nice breeding get a couple of kribensis . pop a flower pot in your tank and watch them babies go . hope im not sounding too much like an anorak but this is a passion of mine
  6. get 1 from one of the traders on here . that way you know its meant for the job. only about a tenner when i replaced mine i also replaced a couple of bits of fuel pipe , was the braided stuff but not siutable for fuel injection engines . i picked up on this reading one of jeff tt posts . certainly seems happier running now
  7. ive just renewed my car insurance today after a couple of phone calls in negotiation with my broker . to cut a long story short my original quote was for third party fire and theft cover was upgraded to fully comp for half of the original quote . the moral of the story. they need your business more than you need them . a little bit of hard nosed negotiation can save you loads . i saved over £200 and got the better cover. i reckon i could of got him round to polish the car the way he was grovelling.
  8. try changing the fuel filter . mine has run much better since . the fuel we use nowadays is shite compared to the stuff these used to run on
  9. you can get led with biult in chip / resistor that fits straight into the original bulb holder. they,re on ebay about £10 a pair . got them in mine
  10. i got a remote start on mine . the only advantage i can think of is getting the heater blowing warm air on a cold frosty morning before you get in. mine stays locked and alarmed while running . if you open it up and try to drive after its been started on the remote it cuts out as soon as you touch the throttle so you gotta turn it off with remote and turn back on with the key . on the down side i was working on it one day with the fob in my pocket and the bloody thing started up . so now you gotta leave the keys somewhere out of the way while working on it . not a good idea.
  11. i had a trolley jack under the strut raising and lowering . the spring seems to be all in 1 piece
  12. im thinking shocks or springs or a combination of both . is it likely that the springs could have softened with age or is it more likely to be the shocks . they look in pretty good condition .
  13. alright chris . same size wheels as mine mate . offsets on mine are 35 and have no clearance issues at all on the discs and calipers . oh and i havent got any spacers on either andy
  14. im having a few issues here . at the front on the drivers side the arch is sitting 15mm lower than the passenger side . this is snagging on the wheel in bumps and left hand corners and also very slightly under braking . at the rear end the passenger side is sitting 15 mm lower than the drivers side . so opposite corners front driver and rear passenger are both 15mm lower than other side . ive had a really good check underneath around all the links and bushes and the only one which looks like it needs changing now is the front stabilizer bar bush (drivers side) there is still a bit of give in all four corners so i dont think any of the shocks are siezed . any advice on this will be gladly recieved

    never been before but looking forward to it big time . im planning on coming in the zed . will i be able to park it up in the stand or just have to put it in the car park . i havent got my club id card so just wondering if im gonna meet hitler on the gate with a jobs worth cap on . it would be nice to have it sitting amongst some of the other zeds

  17. on the rear of the seals at the top where it starts at the targa there are several flat edges that sit against the paintwork . some of these are only about 2-3mm in width . put a small amount of sealent on all of the faces . normal silicon sealant is no good as it will lift in no time . i used wynns black gasket sealent . it comes in a pump tube and costs about £8. also on the targas themselves where the flat rubber section is at both ends lift the rubber as much as possible and get as much sealant as possible in there and sqeeze flat . dont press the seals down tightly . just put your targas back in and close up . this way you will get a tight seal between the targa glass and top of the rubber seal aswell as getting a good seal between the rubber and metalwork .

  20. is that engine running up to temp or just ignition on jeff. am i likely to get a pisser of the connection because its no longer got the original plug on it , just a couple of spade connectors
  21. while ive got a bit of spare time ive been going over the old girl swapping and changing bits and cleaning connecters etc . general tinkering before a planned long run . i,d like to check the operation of the electric back up fan / air con fan . is there a simple test process for this to check its working ok cheers
  22. mine was doing this until recently . i put a new fuel filter in and touch wood it aint done it since .
  23. make sure you check the other ends of them . its normally there where the play is
