Hope they die a horrible agonising death but not in your car and not involving anyone else , all scum like this should be shot IMO .
  4. Place a block of wood on top of the catch , lower the bonnet so the striker sits on the wood now place a hand on each front corner and very gently push down with both hands inducing a very slight bow downwards of both corners , don,t go mad as you don,t want to crease your bonnet but this trick usually works :hyper:
  5. We used a tailgate strut off an early Renault Megane hatchback as it,s not too long or powerful so it won,t smack in the chin on it,s way up . :D If it,s over long it can strain the hinges. Most of the screw in balls have an 8mm thread , i never did find out what the one i found with a 5mm thread was from :headvswal Rather than drilling out the already threaded insert in the inner wing to accept a rivnut , it would be easier to have the 8mm one tured down on a lathe and re-threaded to 5mm so it will screw staight in the inner wing with no mods , it,d only cost a drink at an engineering shop. :hyper: HTH
  6. Pete you big bloody kid .... Bring it to the next meet so we can all have a play :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :D How ya keeping bud ? long time no see !!
  7. That will repair easily bud, i do worse than that most days , just remember there are panelbeaters and there are people who call themselves the same but are just bodge artists , always go to reccommended place with a good reputation , never just the cheapest .
  8. Check for corrosion on the lip of the arches , mainly the rear ,front edge of the bonnet and door bottoms for scabs even aluminium mercs corrode , did some warranty corrosion work on one a couple of weeks ago  I know that merc went through a bit of a cost cutting mission a few years back and by fook it.s biting them in the ar5e now , you wouldn,t believe the rust issues were having to deal with , doing about 5 cars a week , got an E class in at the mo that,s having two new quarters cos it,s so corroded !!
  9. I,ll second that , don,t get me wrong it does have its percs especially with your own car but in general there a PITA , as you can tell after 26 years working on them the novelty,s well and truly worn off !!! :D The perfect job ..... a curry tester :nana2: :nana2: :nana2:
  10. Couldn,t agree more bud , bring those laws in over here , to me anyone who murders someone should be shot , end of . Why the fook do we have to pay to keep these sick fooks alive in a prison being spoilt by all thse human rights do-gooders only for them to be released early to do it all again , boils my blood
