  3. It.s deffo a strange one this , mine came out a piece of pi55 with a gentle warm :confused: Only other suggestion is to have someone hold the sledghammer against the back of the alloy arm to give it a bit of weight/ support to drift against just in case the shock of hammering is being absorbed by the mounting bushes .

  10. I did mine with wheel silver and a coat of laquer , I,ve got hid,s and had no probs with heat effecting them :dance: IIRC BeeGeeVinz used some of that aerosol chrome paint on his , in normal circumstances this paint is crap and marks up very easily but being in a sealed headlight it seems to to be holding up well !! HTH :D

  13. The hinge pins are,nt removable on these hinges but an very easy and quick fix is to the door dropping . Remove the two bolts from the bottom hinge to the door and use a couple of washers slipped between the hinge and door ( do one and put the bolt in loose then the other , much easier ) you just have to find washers , which now act as shims , with a big enough hole for the shoulders on the bolts to go through , you,ll see what i mean when you take the bolts out , they have a self centering shoulder on them . Did mine in 5 mins and it sorted my door out perfectly Here,s a fussy pic :headvswal :D You can just about see the washer. HTH

  15. I was on a course / tests for a couple of days last week to gain a ATA accreditation as a panelbeater ( been doing it 26 years and now they want qualifications !! ) , had to drive to manchester 2 days on the trot , anyway part of this course involved a welding test to make sure we were upto British Standard , passed it all . :hyper: Yesterday we have a guy turn up at our work place to do the British Standards welding test on the polish beaters we have . they both fail misserably and today they were allowed to carry on welding on cars !!!! Makes me wonder why i bothered
