Cheers for the heads up Andy, I was looking at buying one of these to do an oil change over the winter. It will be interesting to see if anyone else has had the same problem. Fingers crossed no serious damage has been done.

Warped brakes?
have you tried bedding in your brakes? see here for more info. http://www.tirerack.com/brakes/tech/techpage.jsp?techid=85 Failure to follow these procedures may result in brake judder, excessive noise, or other difficulties in bedding-in the new brake pads. The pads need a fresh surface to lay down an even transfer film. Residue from the previous pad compound on the surface or an irregular surface on a used rotor will cause the pads to grip-slip-grip-slip as they pass over the rotor surface under pressure. The resulting vibration will cause noise and telegraph vibrations through the suspension and steering wheel. This vibration is known as brake judder or brake shimmy. This is typically caused by an uneven transfer film on the rotor surface or an uneven surface on the rotor not allowing that transfer film to develop evenly. This is often misdiagnosed as a warped rotor Another article here as well, HTH http://www.stoptech.com/tech_info/wp_bedinperformance.shtml

Coolant Change
Don't know if the right or wrong way, but when I did mine I flushed the system through with a rad flush cleaner. Then with the rad and thermostat off I flushed it through again using a garden hose, once the water runs clear fill up with the correct anti freeze and bleed the system of air. This can take some time to get it all out as I found out.

got my black gloss vinyl
for the price I doubt very much that it is cast vinyl which is what you would need to go round corners or to stretch. It should be fine on flat surfaces though.

got my black gloss vinyl
what type/brand of vinyl did you buy Ian?, as depending on whether it's "calendered" or "cast" vinyl will determine if it will bend, stretch with heat. Just read your post again, don't cut to shape as you will need to stretch and heat it slighty then cut off any access, pm me if you want I do this for a living

suspension setup for strosek front bumper
When I bought my car it had standard suspension as the previous owner llike yourself lived near to several speed bumps. I found that the car did "ground" out on the spoiler, having fitted coilovers its obvioulsy worse. Luckily I don't have any speed bumps near me (just shit roads). The only practical advice I could give is the spoiler gets lower to the ground the further it goes under the car, you could theoretically cut some of the trailing edge of the spoiler off, thus giving marginal more groiund clearance. Hope that makes sense?
