Looks like Clarkson was wrong....
I watched the show.... I'm half Australian (British decent) and half Mexican.... (so got a double whammy)... I really enjoined it and also laugh at them taking the P out of everyone else as well. It's what I've grown to expect form the show and partly why I watch it. I would say that if anyone thinks the guys on the show are serious they need a reality check. it's just a good light hearted laugh. however i guess the Mexican ambassador did get directly mentioned...

Overfuelling only on Full Throttle!
hi, just a question... have you asked AndyP if his chip is set up to over-fuel? I don't know if his do but the last chip I had was ... a re-map fixed it.

Bonnet pin problem???
not that I really know much about them ...... but don't most of them have adjustments to make the pin sick up more? and aren't you supposed to turn something (a clip) or push a pin though to secure it? some pics might help....

headlight adjusters refurb
OK... the tamiya cogs go on really tight... so tight in fact that you need to hammer/tap them on... they might still work fine.... (i wouldn't bother with replacement plastic ones) if the tamiya one's don't work you may have to get a new set of lights.... I'm not sure it's possible to replace the spindle / pin.... so cheapest way first is still to do the metal gears....

Help Needed please
the temp gauge is a regular thing.... look at the front of the block on the coolant pipe, there are two sensors there, the one to the right (the smaller one) may have a loose connection and or the copper spade attached to it may be loose.... you can tap it with the end of a screwdriver (and hammer, gently) to improve the contact or I found it worked well to put a bit of copper wire around the base of the spade where it was loose and tighten it up with a pair of pliers (kid of like a cable tie)....

headlight adjusters refurb
I'd have a look at the location of your mod before attempting that.... I think you'll find once the lights are back in the car, there is no way in hell to get to the nut you talk about... :) stick with the tamiya upgrade or get some new/other plastics ones...

Petrol in 300ZX
Agree with Richard 100% a higher ron rating means ignition retardant (more controlled burn / anti-knock... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Octane_rating "Octane rating does not relate to the energy content of the fuel (see heating value). It is only a measure of the fuel's tendency to burn in a controlled manner, rather than exploding in an uncontrolled manner. Where octane is raised by blending in ethanol, energy content per volume is reduced."

headlight adjusters refurb
Hi, no mate... no worm gears.... two cogs per adjuster, 45 to 45 degrees makes it a 90 degree transfer.... one of the adjustment screws on the low beam is a direct rod, so no gears at all. and you also need another set for the high beam..... the second adjuster for the high bean uses lager cogs and they don't seem to break.... so you need 4 cogs per light..... x 2 = 8 cogs... you really need to have a look at the instructions / guides people have provided for you (even though they can be found using the search facility). that way you wont have to ask as many questions..... :)

Import Costs
... not quite true.... customs look a things a little differently.... I've had stuff sipped from China, japan, US & Australia.... most of the time if the value is low they don't seem to bother and in some cases I've had parts that cost over £100 sent with no problem but if they do decide to check the goods they can put duty on them as well as Post office handling charge... I bought a set of bonnet lifters form Oz on ebay (£30) and customs put another £15 on them. if they can't determine cost from the invoice or label they will make it up them selves (estimate, to the point of opening the box and checking the goods). So its more down to luck... however as jmwuk says you seem to have a better chance if they write "gift" or "used car parts" on the package. but again you still might get stung.... good luck..

HID Install now speedo problem?
there is a difference between voltage and current (power).... it may show 14.8 volts but if alternator is having issues the current might not be strong enough.... "HID's require a lot of power"... not a high voltage.. that is why I'm running mine from the battery using a relay.... and not using the 19 year old wiring in the car....

headlight problem?
I had a similar problem and it turned out to be one of the head light fuses had blown....
-
HID Install now speedo problem?
from your sig it looks like your car is an import... so maybe there could be a problem with the conversion setup to MPH.... i used a direct power supply harness to my HID's (with relay) that may also help (about £15 from ebay)

Titanium Key
I don't like your chances of getting hold of a blank one... well not for sensible money anyway and you'll be lucky if it's an original Nissan one.... I got mine with a full set of locks (so already cut)... just got to fit them now.... the ignition is a bit a s%&t to do as it has shear bolts that you have to undo....
