You have 14 unofficial days grace on your tax, you will ideally have to keep it off road but then again my understanding is police won't report you in that period and even if DVLA were informed you would mostly like get a letter advising you tax the vehicle pronto. Get your MOT done mid week and don't worry too much. I would hazard a guess police are even less interested in ann untaxed vehicle as long as it is MOT'd and Insured especially since the DVLA became computer automated for tax checking. However my best advice would be take her off the road foor several days until MOT'd.
