Advice on picking up new car
I would hazard a guess that 121,000 KM is probably more realistic. Is it UK or JDM and if it's JDM have the dials been changed from KM to MPH?

I don't know a lot about recon tubs and so I don't know how much cheaper they work out at. I personally would go for new ones if finances allow. The next decision would be what power do you want. I replaced mine with stage 2 tubs - thrust bearing ones. I do recommend finding a specialist though. There seems quite a few options.

Insurance?
I know you can buy it back depending on the category it is written off as but until then the car belongs to the insurers so surely you would be selling THEIR property?

Insurance?
Fortunately this has not happened to me but was wondering if people knew where you stood in relation to selling parts from a car before the insurance claim has been settled. I would assume if it is repairable then you will be getting the car back and can do what you like but if it is a write off then you would be selling their property, and where would you stand if you bought the parts? Just a thought...

If you go through insurance you will report the accident to them and provide them with the other parties details and they process the claim between themselves. In the meantime you will have to pay your excess to the repairers that they have agreed on. When the claim is resolved, ie the other party accept liability, then you will get your excess refunded. This should not affect your policy.
