Autobox ALC
Hi John, I concur with Tony with regard to the ALC working well on an N/A. This device is not related to the type of engine just the transmission. The normal Nissan Autobox ECU will temporarily drop the line pressure during up shifts - which frequently results in "jerky" shifts when accellerating hard. The ALC keeps the line pressure constant and will thus allow the gears to be engaged quicker resulting in a more sporty character. I've had one on my car for well over a year and a half now and like Tony says under normal driving conditions you won't notice any difference. However, once you floor the loud pedal the shifts are significantly quicker. I've currently got a GB going on HKS ALC 2's - round about £180 if I can get 8 orders. Otherwise they'll run about £200 depending on the exchange rate. Let me know if I can help you source one. Regards,

Advice about convertables
Not necessarily Neil - keep checking with import/auction houses - one will turn up considerably under £10k. There was one that was recently acquired by a Dutch acquintance of mine for roughly £7.5k including shipping to Holland and SVA testing. One of my clients, Redline Imports, will search all of Japan for the right car. If you want I can put you in touch with them or just visit their website (not too informative though) at http://www.redlineimports.co.uk. Hope this helped keep your dream alive ... ;)

Calling all James Morgans ...
Thanks for clearing that up Stuart ... it was very freaky at 2am to say the least. By the way, we still need to have that discussion we never got around at the last meet in Solihull ... pm me your contact number mate and I'll phone you. Cheers!

Calling all James Morgans ...
Hi Jaffa & James300, Was doing your brake brace bracket invoices last night and got a little confused about the name on your paypal payments ... they both appear to be the same - James Morgan. I know that everything I do at 2am seems confusing but this puzzled me for a good 5 minutes. Is this indeed the case or did one of you make payment for the other ... Please let me know because my one remaining brain cell is going into shock. And just incase you're wondering, your brackets will be on their way tomorrow morning (regardless of your names ... ;)) so you'll hopefully have them by Friday noon time (remember it's going via recorded delivery so you'll need to sign for receipt). Thanks!

Thanks for that - will do so in a couple of days. Regars, Danny

conzult
The software alone will not do anything ... you need the interface to interact, interpret and display the variables on a PC screen. When you're ready to buy one let me know ... Regards,

NZR: Anyone with connections to a print shop?
Hi all, With the show season upon us (JapFest & soon after Billing & TRAX) I am make preparations to get DTA-Motorsport brochures and business cards sorted. Business Cards: minimum 230gsm card stock, spot colour (logo) & black text, one-sided. minimum order = 250 cards option: printing the back of the card with brand names/logos. Brochures: 3 pane A4, minimum 120gsm white paper, double sided printing, full colour, black text & small photographs. minimum order = 250 brochures Looking to have this completed by mid May. If anyone is interested please send me a PM or phone me on 07044016586. Many thanks!

Battery
I've never had much luck at Harry's for anything Z related. For a start they have the wrong data in their product books. I'm not saying they won't have a battery that will fit your Zed, just that it's unlikely they'll know what you're talking about. One thing you have to make sure of is that the battery terminals are the right way around (the battery loom doesn't have enough "play" in it to allow for a "back -to-front" situation). When standing in front of the car the battery terminals should be on the "back" side of the battery (closest to the firewall) with the positive terminal on the left and the negative on the right. Try and get a battery with a high cold cranking amps rating and of roughly the same dimensions as the one you've got now. Hope this has helped ... Regards,

Mike/Gio - are you out there ...
Haven't seen or heard anything from this gentleman. Mike - are you still out there (in stealth mode) or have you gone to sunnier climes? Would be nice to get back in touch so if you read this send me an e-mail to catch up. Best regards, Danny

Cats and lambda sensors.
Do not remove all the silencers and back boxes. The noise will be so ear deafening loud you'll end up putting the lot back in no time ;) Can't remember who it was but they removed the silencers and had the back pipes straight out without the benefit of a back box and when stationary the dB noise level was illegal and at motorway speeds it was unbearably loud. It also set off car alarms all over the place. Guy had it in that state for under a week and put the lot back - much happier chappy now and not being threatened with Anti-Social Behaviour Orders! LOL

Extreme 4 Wheel steering

Zcentre Wings West kit ??
The WingsWest rear bumper that Luke sells is actually a "skin" that is stuck on over the bottom half of your standard rear bumper. The front one is a complete replacement. And yes they are fibreglass copies so buy a large reserve of fibreglass mats and resin to repair cracks etc. Good price though and looks good ... HTH

Boost jets
Alex, Without the boost jets or a boost controller there is not much point to having a chip fitted. The chip will only be benificial when you increase the boost level by adding boost jets or a boost controller as it uses different ignition and air/fuel maps to cope with the increased air/fuel requirements of running higher boost. By the way, fitting boost jets takes 5 minutes, its the calibrating afterwards (to ensure you're not over-boosting) that takes the longest. As for the chip upgrade - send me a PM or call me and I'll see what I can do ... ;) Cheers mate!

Air Flow Meter COMPENSATER ???? ANY SUCH THING ??
And just to add to the equation: it would appear that the standard injectors max out at roughly 15psi of boost. I have seen this on several cars whilst doing a run with a ConZult attached. I think it was Ryan (Baggins) who most recently encountered this problem (although I could be wrong). So if you're running more than that on standard injectors you should really be tuning boost down until you get bigger injectors. However, this would not explain why you're running that lean under stationary conditions or low loads. HTH and isn't complete b*ll*x! ;)

Small TV Screen in Dash
Yes, you can hook up the ConZult to an in-dash screen. You'll require a small PC/Laptop to be fitted in the car (for which you'll require an inverter to power it). We can provide a custom "over view" screen showing various sensors in real-time which is displayed when you activate the PC/Laptop. If you integrate some sort of pointing device then data logging will also be possible. If anyone is seriously interested in this then drop me an e-mail and I'll get a price for doing the custom coding work. Here is a piccy of someone who has done precisely this: This particular vehicle uses a custom made in-car PC stowed under the passenger seat. Very neat! Regards,

ok more questions conZult this time
Or, not to be outdone by the Dutch site ... check out our very own DTA-Motorsport (UK) site at http://www.dta-motorsport.co.uk. Have a look at the ConZult FAQ and screenshots. Just a word about the screenshot page - I'm in the process of updating it with Version 2.0 images of the ROM reader so it may show a few dead links for a couple of hours. If you want to discuss anything about the ConZult give me a call on 07044016586 - I'd be happy to talk you through it. Regards,

Exhausts again!
I have approached them about making different rear boxes and tips. They are willing but that would require a minimum run of 15 units - so that's pretty much a non-starter ... shame really. Good luck with your search!

1st Job Done Today, New Momo Wheel
Now, I could be wrong here but I was told that steering wheel rotation (as measured by two plates in the boss) feeds input to the HICAS system. If the original boss is removed there is no more input hence no HICAS. Was also told that if your steering wheel is not centred the HICAS input is considered to be abnormal (ie it thinks you're always going around a corner) and this also disables the HICAS system. However, disabling the HICAS this way is not a cheap alternative to fitting the Stillen HICAS fixator as there will still be some "play" in the HICAS arms. The Stillen fixator removes that play. HTH.

Timing,quick question
Tony, Not having seen this before during a "live" ConZult test - I would suggest you look in the area of a temp sensor problem or possibly the CAS connector. HTH Danny

Induction for an NA
The A'PEXi Powerflow induction kits I sell have been know to result in a "significant" increase in torque throughout the rev range (significant being subjective) on both NA's and TT's. The engine will most likely sound a bit deeper as well. What induction kit are you getting? Cheers!
