How much bhp can be had on standard rods.
Not sure about BHP limits of stock rods but the Eagle rods have been proven in cars with upto 850 RWBHP! (mostly in the US).

Rolls Royce Phantom hire - anyone have contacts?
That wouldn't be Jayson by any chance would it? Thought he sold the F? It's not for a wedding. It'll be our 5th wedding anniversary and I thought I'd do something special to mark the fact we haven't killed eachother yet .. ;)

Rolls Royce Phantom hire - anyone have contacts?
It won't be the first time I've been in one. I've spent the better part of a day driving from Birmingham to Leeds and back with a business acquaintance of mine. I absolutely love the car and would probably sell my house and live in one instead ;) As for the rental - no luck yet, still working on it ... Oh and I did contact the chap in question but he's since sold the car and got himself on the orderbook for a Phantom Drophead.

Massive thanks to Anthonyd and Dan at DTA
Hi! I'm very glad to hear the new S2 PTU solved your problems! And thank you for the kind words. All the best, Dan

Unorthodox racing pulleys
Yes Chris - I sent you an e-mail about it last week ... perhaps you didn't get it or it ended up in your SPAM folder ... The short of the story is that Unorthodox now only do one P/S pulley for the NA - the one you got off Luke. I'm afraid it is the same one as I have in the DTA kit. I would look into it further but am absolutely up to my neck in work so don't get a lot of time. You're probably best off putting the stock pulley back on until this can be sorted. Sorry. Dan

Rolls Royce Phantom hire - anyone have contacts?
LOL! Not to worry Dave - I don't want to have that on my consious! I've just approached an independent RR specialist near to me who "may" be able to help me out ... fingers crossed!

Rolls Royce Phantom hire - anyone have contacts?
LOL! ;) Yes, Google was my first point-of-call and through that I found the two Midlands based companies. I'm going to speak to some of my Lambo clients as I know one or two of them have Phantoms as well (one even has a Drophead Coupe ... stunning car!) I'll see if one of them can point me in the right direction or be prepared to drive us for the evening ...

Rolls Royce Phantom hire - anyone have contacts?
Yes, they tend to only want to do daytime hire. I've also looked at executive hire companies and even approached a "prestige car club" type of business but I don't fancy shelling out £7.5k in membership fees and then pay for a few hours hire ... ;) Perhaps this is one dream too far ...

Rolls Royce Phantom hire - anyone have contacts?
I know, a bit of a long shot to put up on here but if you don't ask you'll never know. I'm looking to organise an evening out in "grand style" and require the use of a chauffeur driven Phantom. There are two companies relatively near me (ie West Midlands) who could provide this service but are charging an arm, leg and kidney for the privilege. I was just wondering if anyone knows of a company (or even a well-heeled friend) who could provide this service. This would be for the evening of May 25th and requires a pickup in Warwickshire, drive over to Staffordshire (Litchfield area) and then back again a few hours later. Anyway - just thought I'd ask ... Thanks! Dan

Unorthodox racing pulleys
Nope - not as of yet. My contact states that the two part numbers on their list refer to the same pulley so the one you've got is the only one they do ... Why the two part numbers? Haven't a clue. I find it a bit strange that the only PS pulley they do is refered to by two different numbers - something tells me there exists two different PS pulleys - I just need to find out where I saw that ... I've got to take a pic of the DTA pulleys and e-mail it over to you. I'll be in touch soon. Regards, Dan

Unorthodox racing pulleys
£275 for the four pulleys plus £26 (TT) or £32 (NA) for a complete set of new belts. These pulleys are all stock size but much lighter. In fact, compared to the stock pulleys (all four) our pulley set weights 74% less!

Indicator's
As above or one of your indicator bulbs (could be any of them) is blown and requires replacing. HTH Dan

Unorthodox racing pulleys

Unorthodox racing pulleys
Hi Chris, I'm about to place an order for some unorthodox pulleys - can add yours to it if you like. Alternatively, I've got a complete set of lightened stock sized DTA pulleys in stock. Will give you the same benefit as the U/D crank pulley but without the hassle of slowing down the waterpump ... ATB Dan

Doesn't it make ya Sick as F**k?
Profits at the big oil companies is not related to the price we pay at the pump. In fact, it has nothing to do with it. Where the oil companies make their money is much further up the "pipe line" (so to speak). They extract the oil at a certain cost and then sell it on the open market to refineries, etc. The current barrel price is nudging £120 (!!) whereas exploration and extraction costs have not increased dramatically over the past few years. Hence the big profits. Oh, and the UK government takes 66p of every £1 we spent at the pump ... thiefing barstewards! :nono:

Yellow | Modded | Southampton - 28APR08
I was in Southampton yesterday to attend a funeral and whilst driving on the A335/Stoneham Way (just off J5/M27) at around 1pm I saw a yellow ZX pass by. The car had a high spoiler and "300ZX" in large black lettering across the rear centre panel. You wouldn't have seen me because I was driving my Jeep Grand Cherokee and turned off towards Bassets Green Village. Just wondering if it was anyone on here. Dan

Si, Have a look in the DTA section - there is a recent thread I started with the Stillen prices. Dan

02 sensor year fitment
Yep, all are the same. The only cars that came with different rear O2 sensors were the US/Canadian spec cars 1996+ (emmission requirements, etc). So just to be absolutely clear, all UK/JDM TT/NA's have two O2 sensors and they are identical between the models.

You haven't missed it yet Chris - I've seen your post in the GB section so I'm hopeful you can get the dosh together. Look forward to hearing from you. Regards, Dan

I'll second that ... ;)

Anyone bought these 'Peel and stick' LED lights?
Si, These stick-on lights are really only good for illuminating small spaces. We've got some in our airing cupboard and pantry and seem to do the job. However if you need to light up anything larger than a small cupboard then these are not ideal. HTH Dan

I cringe when I see statements like the above ... I'm sure it is a perfectly innocent question (and I don't mean to offend anyone with my response) but there is absolutely no way you can ever state with any degree of certainty how much power a car is putting down based on a short list of "mods". The amount of power a car puts down onto the road is contingent on so many factors - to name a few: - condition of the engine and all it's internal parts - octane rating of the fuel used - condition of the tranmission - %-age power lost through transmission - Lightened or stock crank pulleys/flywheel/etc - modifications such as turbo size, intake/exhaust mods, headers, downpipes - etc, etc. Even brand new cars have varying outputs. Take a look at the new Nissan GTR. Out of the box it should have around 480bhp. However, I know that independent rolling road sessions on two different (but equally specced) cars have resulted in figures closer to 520bhp. And that's on engines which were barely run in. If you're looking at two identically specced Zeds you'll find that they will not make the same kind of power. Too many variables. So, if your mate has bought a Z and wants to know how much power he's putting down then get him to a rolling road - it's the only way to find out for sure. Everything else is just guess work. Sorry to go on a bit but this topic just gets on my wick ... people need to start understanding that "power" is relative to the condition of the car and its modifications. The best way to look at these things is to think in terms of %-age change in power (this is also what insurance companies are interested in - not so much the sum total of new bhp). If you add bigger turbos and have the car remapped properly you can expect a 15% increase in power (these figures are fictional by the way and purely for illustrative purposes). Add a straight-through exhaust, a set of divorced downpipes, larger intercoolers and a free-flowing manifold and that figure might increase to 45%. However if the car (in stock form) was only putting down 224bhp as opposed to another equally stock car putting down 280bhp then you can see how the same modification result in a totally different power output at the end of the day. > ;)
