  1. I'm not convinced that the wall thickness of the upper water pipe is sufficient to tap. I've always seen this modification done with the use of a small boss welded on. I've got some stainless steel 1/8NPT bosses in stock (£10) if you need any. HTH Dan
  2. Hi Brian, Got your order (after some issues with Outlook - bloody technology) and I've e-mailed you back a quote. I don't stock copper grease but will get some for you from my local motor factors and pop it in the box with the pads. Cheerio! Dan
  3. Not sure mate - might just be a different material that's used for the front discs ... If you're concerned I suggest you contact KSport and ask them.
  4. Not really a definitive answer but it'll be some form of oxidation due to exposure to moisture. Rust can take various forms and colours so "black" rust isn't that strange. Does it go away when you've used the brakes? If so then there's nothing to worry about as this is normal behaviour. Regards, Dan
  5. Hi Brian, Yes, from the pictures they look to be stock sized (ie 280mm). Don't worry about the rust - all brake discs get that when they've stood in humidity/rain for even a couple of hours! Comes right off when you've used the brake the first time. ;) Regards, Dan
  6. Yep, usually in stock too except at the moment I'm completely out (had a run on PCV kits last week ...) RRP = £80.00 and includes 2x valves plus 5x hoses. New stock due in about 7~10 days. HTH Dan
  7. Without a pic (or better yet, a receipt) it will be difficult to tell the make of the disc. However, an important fact would be to find out whether you're using stock calipers or aftermarket/upgraded calipers. If they are stock (ie, have NISSAN embossed on them), and they cover the disc right up to the hub, then at least you know you've got a stock-sized disc. That'll make choosing a pad easier as you won't have to worry about pad size, etc. If you have GT-R calipers then there should be a bracket attached to the back of them (effectively pushing the caliper outwards to accommodate a larger disc). I believe that these do not have the word NISSAN written on them as they are Brembo calipers. Get a tape measure and see what the diameter of the disc is. 280mm and it'll be standard size, 324mm and it's GT-R size, any larger and you're looking at an aftermarket kit. HTH Dan
  8. Hi Pete, Ref. missing link: that was removed in the cleanup when the Smithy's Place section in the Traders Forum closed. Sorry about that. However, it is EXACTLY as Smithy says - the R32/S13/S14 listed upper arms ARE DIFFERENT to the Z32 upper arms. I would STRONGLY recommend you DO NOT buy the driftworks upper arms (or tension rods for that matter). Stick with parts that you know have been designed SPECIFICALLY for use on the Z32 ie, Powertrix parts as per my previous post. I'm awaiting confirmation of current pricing and will then put together a comprehensive and (hopefully) competitive price package for you on all the parts you're after. Regards, Dan
  9. Hiya, Just chiming in - sorry, hadn't seen this post before ... As Smithy says, I sell quite a lot of brake pads. Mostly Ferodo but also quite a few Porterfields and Mintex pads. Take a look at Smithy's Place for an idea on current pricing. I'm out of stock on front Porterfields, new stock due in about 2 weeks but can get Mintex and Ferodo pads from UK stock. If you require any further advise please feel free to contact me. Number listed below. Regards, Dan
  10. Just watched the important bits only and regardless of peoples personal views on Americans, America or indeed how the anthem was sung, I hope that President Obama will achieve what he's set out to do. He's facing a difficult road ahead and will require time, patience and understanding before progress can be made. I can't help but feel that an unrealistic expectation has been placed upon Pres. Obama and his new administration just because he is the first [black] President. He seems bright enough to face problems head-on and hopefully will surround himself with bright, progressive thinking advisors. I, for one, wish him and his administration well, a lot seems to be resting on his shoulders ...
  11. Hi Pete, Sorry bud - just got your PM and didn't see this thread ... I can help source all parts you're after. My recommendation is as follows: Stillen Anti-Roll Bars KYB-AGX struts Eibach springs (progressive) Powertrix adjustable Front camber arms & tension rods Powertrix adjustable Rear camber arms That should see a drop of around 30mm, correct camber setup, compliant ride for UK roads/track sessions and much better cornering control. I need to sort out some prices for you - need to check current exchange rate, etc. and will get back to you ASAP. Regards, Dan PS - DON'T buy S13/S14 suspension parts and fit it to a 300ZX - they may look identical but there are some subtle differences which means they won't fit/operate properly on the heavier 300ZX.
  12. Crickey! That is sad news. However, had it been a Murcielago or LP640 then the fact that the car was on its roof probably would have meant that the scissor doors could not have been opened at all and there would have been two fatalities. RIP Dan
  13. Don't use the fog as high beam (or dip beam for that matter) because it is designed to cast the light wide but only a short distance from the car (unlike dip/main beam). Other than that I can't see how you can convert the existing Z headlight unit to accept two dip beam projectors ...
  14. LOL! Hi Danny, I know we've gone through 99% of the options via e-mail last week but I thought I'd jump in here. Can you e-mail me a close-up picture of the writing on the ballast please as well as a picture of the igniters/starters. I have a source that has these ballasts and starters in stock but I need to be 100% sure we are talking about the same thing. Also, a pic of the connector that leads to the bulb would be useful if you can get me one. Regards, Dan
  15. I only came across it a few weeks ago myself. Judging from some of the feedback left on the site (as well as having spoken to some users of the software) I am confident that this is the platform for the foreseeable future. It's open source so plenty of new developments and appears a lot better than OsCommerce. I'm going to give it a try and see how far I get with it. So far it's ticking all my requirement boxes, including full integration with my current payment processor, Protx.
  16. Hi all, Just a general enquiry as to whether any of you have worked with the Magento eCommerce platform (http://www.magentocommerce.com). I'm looking to upgrade my various sites using their software but as I'm no expert I wouldn't mind knowing there was someone out there who could offer some advise. Ta muchly! Dan

  18. I was living on the outskirts of Washington DC in 1990 when the daughter of a neighbour was given one by her parents as a graduation present. Saw it on their drive every day (pearl white, very much like Funkysi's car only SWB) until her numpty boyfriend wrote it off by trying to park it backwards up a tree! She got a Mazda Miata (MX5 to you and me) after that but that's when the ZX bug bit me. Bought my JDM TT in 2001 and still have it (although it's been off the road for over a year now awaiting an engine rebuild ...)
  19. Another FYI/Update on NISMO injectors: Since they changed to the new style injectors both the 555's and 740's are priced the same, namely £740.00 for a complete set of six. If you have an early car (ie DTA-Motorsport (UK) prices: Nismo injectors: £740.00 Full set of injector O-rings, insulators and end caps: £20.00 300Degree Fuel Rail: £475.00 300Degree Fuel Rail Fitting Kit: £90.00 New Style injector connectors (6): £58.00 Performance Chip: £65.00 (DTA chip, other chip prices may vary) ECU Socketing: £35.00 (DTA price, other prices may vary) The above prices are based on today's exchange rate and are subject to change given the current $:£ rate fluctuations. Prices include import duty/vat but exclude shipping within the UK. All parts purchased to order - lead times may vary but are usually between 14~21 days. Beware of cheap imitations floating around on eBay. Also, as stated above, many of the used injectors coming in from the US are faulty due to the bioethanol corrosion of the injector internals. I also recommend you steer clear of Venom injectors as these have proven to be faulty in many cases (not all are faulty though). HTH Dan
  20. Thanks for the input Andy - I thought that might be the case ... Happy new year to you and yours by the way! :) All the best, Dan
  21. Hi all, A bit of an odd question from my corner of this mad world today. The battery in my wife's MX5 has "just" not enough power to start it up after sitting for a couple of weeks in the cold. It's got about 11.8V across the terminals which I guess isn't quite enough to get the engine going. I've got a very old battery charger but I'm not sure if it works properly. It doesn't have any LED's or meters to show it is working. I've just plugged it into the mains and the output is about DC0.23V regardless of whether it's set to "Low" or "High". Does this sound right? I was under the impression that (car)battery chargers put out a lot more than that. Also, I can't get any AMP reading. If someone in the know could let me know whether I should trash this charger or whether it is functioning I would be very grateful. (I jump started the MX5 and the Mrs is now out driving around the village to try and charge the battery up a little.) Thanks! Dan
  22. Just a brief UPDATE on what Smithy stated in the post above this one. Effective November 1st 2008, NISMO changed the style of the 555cc injectors to be the same as their 740cc and 850cc injectors. This means that if you want to fit any of their injectors into an older style lower intake (ie, '94). HTH Dan
  23. Depends on whether you have a JDM or UK-spec TT. I've got the following belt kits in stock priced at £26 plus £3.85 p+p per kit: UK-spec with U/D crank pulley: A/C: 4PK926 H2O PUMP: 4PK990 P/S: 4PK890 JDM with U/D crank pulley: A/C: 4PK926 H2O PUMP: 4PK980 P/S: 4PK890 HTH Dan
  24. That is in fact a RAZO shifter. They stopped making the shiny versions and now sell the CF-effect shifters. Straight forward to fit and will look good. I've still got the original RAZO shifter on mine which is a dulled grey affair - looks miles better than the shiney one they produced afterwards. £85 is a good price as they used to retail in the UK for £120+. HTH Dan
