  1. are the uk ones different to the series 1 and 2 imports ie a car with door mount seat belt uses a different door card ??
  2. what about renting a luxury toilet unit to go next to the marquee so we dont have to walk a long way for fairly poor facilaties? .
  3. awards: a lot of the categories were facts, you cant vote on a fact, if we keep the highest milage, oldest zed etc, then get the person filling out the voting form to put down their own milage and car age we used to have more "best" categories ie best swb, best wide arch, best lwb, best slicktop, best mod, best standard zed, most tidy zed. I believe these were droped after the essex jae when there were not enough cars to vote on. with the 32 car turn out these sort of awards are great because more people get the chance to win an award for being good. everyone should vote for their favorite and second favorite in each category. this would make the runner up prize work better. it will make scoring a little bit harder, but will avoid the situation we had wher ethere was no runner up and also the situation where 31 people vote for car A and 1 person for car B, so car B is the runner up. but 30 people thought car C was much better than car B
  4. custom gobos is fairly easy, price depends on how complicated the design, i may even have a few nissan and Z gobos lying around. or expect to pay about £30 for the first custom and then about £5 a copy I was wondering about a truss structure on the grass outside the marquee lit up with scans roaming over the cars . and stage blocks to park some cars on. but it would be a lot of work. bigger generator and a battery /inverter so we can run some lights past midnight. led lighting so the marquee is not lit by a big halogen flood background music (not a DJ as i'm old and deaf and wont be able to talk over it) fridge for the food and possibly the beer bacon for breakfast more comfortable furniture Xbox or PS3 with driving chairs and projector possibly guitar hero with drums and vocal and 4 guitars I have all the above available and a van to get it there, but would need a lot of help. or for a small cash and burger incentive i could get it delivered and set up
  5. your changing the light up rear pannel to say "sad ......"
  6. i've hit the limiter before. i certainly new about it, but i'm not sure the car was too upset
  7. on both of mine it stops when you reset the trip milage. its crap and bits fallen off the cogs jamming it. pressing the trip reset stalk a few times gets it going again. or take it out and give it a blow with an air compressor
  8. ah , thats ok then, thats a lot of current then i would use one of these to check each fuse http://cpc.farnell.com/_/cf-02/current-tester-automotive/dp/IN04874?Ntt=car+fuse+meter cool :)
  9. multimeter across battery? as in one probe on each terminal that would short your battery through the meter and give you the current flowing through the meter not flowing through the car
  10. so you have to remember to shut down the pc properly every time you stop the car?
  11. seeing as a number of you have / have had car PCs.... how does the PC get switched on / off and boot up and shut down properly? it cant be as simple as connecting a PC to the battery via an inverter
  12. shouldnt the big bolt on lead to the alternator be positive not ground?
  13. i'll be there about 12
  14. i would be up for another attempt i nearly went cross country, but decided to use the motorway as i was a bit late. what anoyed me was there were no signs saying it was closed until it was too late
  15. still on m25. Now 1 mile from j8. Planning to turn round and go home when i get there unless road opens by then. 6 hours. Half tank fuel and 5 miles traveled :(
  16. i asume its also shut in the 8 to 7 direction too? I,m between 9 and 8 and have moved 5 car lengths in half hour. Guess i should have checked first. Not heared anything on the radio
  17. going to be late. Parked up on m25. Guess it is closed
  18. this evening i went for a little drive in the Zed down the road to the new Hindhead tunnel which opened fully yesterday I worked on the traffic surveys and driving time tests for the project about 20 years ago, so was interested to see what they have built 1.25 miles of dual carrigeway, national speed limit tunnel   now seeing as there was only light traffic i felt obliged to try it out in both directions a couple of times, from the noise from in front of me it apeared that some other like minded individuals were also interested in the accoustic properties of the new tunnel.
  19. whatever the label in the centre console lid of my vert said, think it was 32 but would need to check i think theyre too hard but have been woried about going lower as i still cant work out which way (if any) low profiles affect pressure
  20. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=133178&highlight=tyre+pressure
  21. isnt the pressure on the tyre the maximum pressure, ie the pressure needed for the maximum weight the tyre can hold? there fore you need to do some maths involving the presure writen on the tyre, the maximum weight on th etyre and the weight of the car divided by 4 (or more specifically the weight on the apropriate axle divided by 2) i'm sure Jeff did a how to about this some time back in my head i'm sure the profile of the tyre will affect the presure required as well, but i might be wrong . ie a low profile tyre requires different presure to support the same weight as a high profile tyre ?????????
