looks like the evil owl reaching out to grab the extention lead
  3. i was going to , then i got distracted. the guys at LMM really looked after us when we went there. free entry to the museum for drivers etc. it was a really good meet with quite a few zeds and lots to look at inside see http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showpost.php?p=1553667&postcount=126 and http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showpost.php?p=1553670&postcount=127 fo photos of the last meet
  4. 9 years i had a zed with cruise control, which i used a lot , and i never new that
  5. uk working range is much larger, cant remember exactly but something like above 30mph , and i'm sure mine used to work up to at least 90mph turn on cruise control with switch on right pod, light should come on on dash pressing set will set the cruise speed, resume accel will accelerate whilst you press it but you will drop down to set speed when you release unless you press set again at the new speed. pressing the clutch or brake pedal will also cancel the cruise. a good place to start on a faulty cruise control is the switches under teh pedals are set correctly.
  6. in 1995 (when they stoped making uk model) the spec went down. one of the most noticable being the automatic air con became a manual one from about 92/93 the series 2 had a better auto air con and a few other features i believe all UK spec cars came with cruise control
  7. the full mod to stop the hid flashing when you flash main beam involves running wires from the flashing stalk to the relay in the fuse box the simpler relay/ fuse box mod of shorting a pin to ground is the same as what Ghraham discribes of ataching the light to the chasis
  8. have a look at... http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=122118
  9. speedo: either speed sensor coming loose on gear box or loose plug on back of speedo (if happening at any speed) or bad soldering on speedo, and/or cheap speed converter (normally only at low speeds ) power steering heavy / hicas light: either low power steering fluid or caused by speedo not working (power steering is speed sensitive and defaults to heavy if no signal from speedo) if the loss of speedo continues for a while this will also bring on hicas light

i thought you had cleverly designed out the wasted space in between :)
  11. great meet, had a good time, just got back as m3 was queing for about half hour where it was shut
  12. or, maybee, he hadn't used the forum in about 2 years and wanted to get back into zeds and the forum, and wondered what changed? I know in the 11 or so years i've been here what a subscribed member recieves has changed a lot over a number of times I guess what you now get is permision to call non subscribed members half wits, thick, trouble makers, who must be pissed. that certainly wasnt in my membership package why cant we just asume (or pretend) that everyone is here for a good time, and no one comes here just to cause trouble
  13. cheers , will have another play tommorow
  14. with cream on :) an older what? yellow disc?
  15. if i do , how do the indicators cancel?
  16. fixed it so it actually points at a thread
  17. i went to fit a momo wheel as i'm to short and fat for the stock wheel. I failed, see.... http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=154886 slicktop is great :) got meister shocks and bigger brakes now :)
  18. still got mine :) just needs a steering wheel that works and it will be going to Murts pub meet
  19. it definatly does the signal cancelation (and i dont have hicas) the plastic plate with the yellow sticker pops off fairly easily and behind it is a fairly large coil of ribon cable feeding the horn and airbag connector. i'm not too fussed about that as i can wire a horn switch in fairly easily i really want the signal cancelation to work so wasnt sure how much more i could remove the momo website suggests that there is only 1 type of boss to fit all models of 300zx any one got any photos of this wheel sucsesfully fitted to a NA or TT ?
  20. voted, still loving the first album and still have it playing in my car
  21. yes the air bag is in the wheel, thats all been carefully removed :)
  22. I went to fit a momo wheel to my 95 NA instead of the stock airbag wheel and i've come across a problem......... wheel removed........ wheel with what i believe to be a hicas boss for a TT...... hicas bit removed........ wheel centre fitted and bolted on, all seems to fit nicely......... then wheel fitted...... however , when i do the centre nut up nice and tight the steering is very heavy (almost like the car is not running) and there is no response through the wheel and it is just as heavy to turn back to centre after a corner. so i loosened the centre nut a bit and the steering feels better, however as you can seethe only thing that turns the yellow disk (which cancels the indicator) is the friction of the centre bolted to it, so with usable steering the yellow disc slips compared to the wheel obviously if the disk slips comparred to the wheel it will rip out the horn wire. am i doing it wrong or am i missing a plastic bit to catch on the 2 pegs sticking out of the yellow disk?
  23. ok, get 8 definate and i'll confirm :)
  24. i could be tempted if a few more sign up, bit far if its just the 2 of us
