Hello all, My MOT is due mid october so i need to sort out the parts that i know need replacing in order for it to pass. Could anyone let me know if they know of or have for sale the following parts oh the car is a Jap TT Auto: Both front seat belts Passenger side steering rack gator??? Think its only a rubber thing bit mines split and this is supposed to be a failure?? Thanks all, I just hope it passes with these bits sorted. Its a scary thing this MOT as i have never had an MOT before as i have never kept a car for a year before - proves just how great these 300's are!! :dance: Oh if anyone has these parts i wont need them till the end of sept as i am off on hols :) so the car wont be used. Hi Vijay, Youve got mail. I still have yet to adjust the temp gauge (still reading a bit low) so when i get round to doing that i'll try and post up pics, of what and how its done, cant guarantee it works everytime but they way i saw it was how can a little pin break the whole dials?? oops forgot its a 300 course it can ;) but it didnt and hopefully if i can post up some sort of guide it might save people money when they think they have to buy new clocks. :) Cheers Ant

If the spindle comes out, it can be sorted, it took me a couple of hours but in the end got there, had to drive around with the plastic screen off the dials and adjusted all the dials by hand and got them all back to the correct place. Annoying and time consuming but saved myself £100 (new clocks) and ended up with white dials :dance: . I also purchased them off this guy on ebay (excellent seller) but they were the only 180mph he had, not the indiglo ones just white with blue figures (nissan motorsport written on the speedo and 300zx on the rev counter). Very pleased just very annoying repositioning all the needles so guys dont give up if they dont read right first time just keep on trying and you'll get there. :) Hope this helps. Ant

Shat thats what i was thinking so gave it all another go adjusting the needles while driving and :dance: its all sorted, just had to reposition the needles and after many attempts it worked. Thanks Ant

I have just fitted white dials and now none of them are working properly, i had to remove the needles in order to get them on, does anyone know what maybe wrong or is it case of buying a new set of clocks :cry: If anyone has a spare set of clocks around could you tell me where the needles move freely too as i am hoping i just need to move these?? Pete, Dont know whether they are still on there but ebay in America had a guy selling all stainless bolts etc for every single one under the hood (coil pack bolts, balance bar etc) the whole lot all different sizes. Might be worth checking it out see if there still there search 300zx thats how i found them. Cheers Ant :)

24 for me, was 23 when I got it :D

I ordered my passenger side ( their driver side) from courtesy and after shipping and the customs tax it cost me approx £80 and that was at an exchange rate of 1.71 so £160 aint to bad. Suppose it all depends on whether you get stung with tax or not, which more than likely you will :( ! Hope this helps. Cheers Ant :)

Its for the view through the window so if your walking past you'll see it. Not gonna do it on the boot inside as my boots only ever open to put the shopping in so no point as i have no boot install to show off. Vinz, This was a first attempt so didnt really follow the lines of the Z but did so on the 300 x part. Am gonna leave it as it is as if i try to alter parts i'll probably mess it up. Stu, You know i would love to fit it but as i need other parts to fit it i thought WE could fit it in :D Your knowledge and expertese and my apprenticeship! Cheers Ant

I know but when its in the boot it doesnt notice ;) I used a can of spray paint for the Z and then i added the 300 zx with a silver permanent marker from the local art shop :D Cheers Ant

Its one/both of your re-circs mate, mine did this and am sure most others do, only way to stop is to replace them or take them off and put Dump Valves on, thats what i did anyway. I would let you have mine but mine make the honk noise too so wont cure your prob. Hope this helps mate. Ant :D

All sorted now thanks took me about an hour, final result pleased with next got to do it all again when i fit new dials to hide the appauling "redline" sticker!!! Thanks for your help Ant :D

Morning all, Am going to try to take out my speedo housing today as i have a new surround to go in, how do i take the whole lot out so i can take off the plastic front to put on the new surround? Probably simple but then again maybe not so i dont want to break anything. Thanks everyone. Ant :D
