  4. To reset the ecu's just leave the battery disconnected for about an hour. But as Clarkey said i would check the connector on the ecu as although the bolt may be tight the connector can bow out at the ends.
  5. NO golden rivet hunting. Well thats the cerimony all done. they cable tied my hands together. made me drink fish oil. fed me tuna, egg, cheese and alsorts mixed together that tasted really bad. and then poured a couple of days old boiled fish all over me. :hurl: needless to say my guts feel pretty ropey at the moment and im stinking of fish even after having a long shower. thank god i never have to do that again.

Thats a girlly paint job you got there Martin , youve been hanging around Gaz too long. Better watch you will be wearing roll neck tops next.
  16. Wow they are massive and very cheap. What spec are you going to be buliding the rest of the engine to.
  17. I have been meaning to do this job for a while now. but this weekend i have finaly managed to get round to doing it. I bought a kit designed for a mk2 golf from a trader at E38 VW show for £20 last weekend. and used a 15mm x 15mm right angle bar made a bracket up for the bonnet. and drilled a hole in the inner wing to mount the other end of the strut The kit is made by INXX for any one intressed.
  18. seen this busa in a mk2 golf last weekend they are going to turbo it soon.
  19. nice one john. its great when you can really embaress someone in a fast car when your driving something basic may be you could get a set of bugatti brakes for it they will fill the gap nicely
  20. if the top hose is hot and the bottem one warm and your gauge is in the center then your radiator is working and sounds like you dont have a flow problem. the top rad hose will only start to get hot when the thermostat has opened. But the stock gauges are sh*te and shouldnt be relied upon too much If the ecu is showing a fault code then its either a problem with the sensor or the cabling going to it, it will not show a fault code if it gets to hot. also a faulty coolent sensor will put the ecu in safe mode

  22. Disconnect the positive lead on the battery and put an ammeter in series between the positive terminal and the positive lead. (dont exeed the current rating of the ammeter by turning anything on). Now one by one remove the fuses to find out what circuit is draining the power.
  23. Was at a vw show not long ago and seen a car in matt black, it actually looked very good, but i could never spray my car that colour.
  24. if you do an oil change, then you could remove the oil cooler and drain the old oil out. then when you fill it back up you will not be just changing the oil thats in the sump but the whole lot.
