Hi all Im really thinking of getting a DTA S80 ecu and a guy close to me can tune these. and they have traction control built in so a cheap unit for 1k. Has anyone fitted one, If so how difficult was it to wire in and is there anything that could pose a problem. i will be doing the job myself. thanks Eddie

Hi mate Nope the car has been off the road when the auto packed in almost 2 years ago, hasnt moved an inch and being a dad has changed alot of things like having to buy a car that the family car fit in. just finished a manual conversion and wanting to change a few things to it, its looking rough at the moment but want to get it back going. got some new plans for it just hope they go to plan. hows you. hows the in-car pc business going, the last time I remember you had your own website and was selling them. hows your car going.

The gearbox still works as normal. Apart from the temp going up. The temp rises when; OD on and it changes down or when I manually go out of OD. It even rises when driven at low speed in 1st and 2nd. As far as engine braking it operates correctly. The power light comes on once as usual when turning the ignition on. I haven't run a diagnostics on it yet. but I will do that before I remove it. Have just bought a manual conversion kit from AndyZ so I know what my job is next time im home. but got 6 months to do it. Cheers guys

well i have had enough of the auto. i got the box rebuilt to a fast road box just over 18 months ago and while overtaking the other week it didnt change up and hit the limiter, so i backed off the throttle and it changed up. i continued driving back home normaly within out over taking, but playing with it trying to find out the problem, in 4th gear it was running fine at a good operating oil temp. as soon as it changed down to 3rd i noticed the temp of the oil would rise by 20 deg within 10 seconds of the box changing. The oil had been replaced 2000 miles before this problem occurred. The old oil was spotless. i have a fair idea that the box is on its way to a failure. i have decided to go for a manual conversion, however if anyone has any idea what could have gone wrong in the box i would like to know. just really p1ssed off that after getting a rebulid to a fast road box it still dies on me, :cry:

im running windows xp pro and road runner front end software. As for uploading music to it, i use VNC remote software and control the carputer using my desktop inside the house. i use a 100mb cable connection as its a lot quicker than my wireless.

For an ipod, usb, hdd, satnav etc that you want you would be best going for a carputer as i would have thought it would be cheaper. I built my carputer for about £600 all in.

i think kirkz might have one as he had a silver zed with a fmic and standard bumper

I dissagree with that. When im at off work, most nights I will have more than 4 drinks but i dont depend on it, as when I go back to work for 4 weeks at sea we dont have any alcohol on board and I dont miss it. but I do enjoy a drink.

Ivi fitted a defi gauge for the auto box. ive got a T peice before the oil cooler with the sensor mounted in it.
