  1. Dont know where you heard that from about the wrong head bolts, but that was spot on !! On the left bank, the two rear most bolts had a spline fitting and not the hex. Also had between 6 & 7 washers on these bolts coz they were about 25 mm too long !! Head gasket was burst at that bit, surprise surprise !! A friend of mine stays in Newmains, has a red Sierra with a Zed turbo in it. He must have hated me for doing his head in with questions !! ;) Alan........
  2. Yup, that is indeed the very one. I actually seen it on Ebay, and as I had a drive in one about 6 months previous, it stuck in my brain somewhere; "must look into these cars" :) I thought my 5.7ltr, tpi Camaro IROC was a fast car !! :slap: As it was cheap I thought, why not !! 3 months later when the engine was coming out of it for the 2nd time, I thought, This is the last project I ever do !! Still, in love with her now and in the new year, will start to mod etc methinks. They are classic cars imo. Alan.....

  4. Yup, sure did, you know the young lad that was selling it ?? Surprising the amount of people who have said they either went to see it, or thought about it. I believe he seeked advice on this forum, and tried to sell it through here as well. Alan........

  7. Awee bit near the knuckle this, but here goes !! My mate, who`s wife left him after he found out about her sleeping around always says "There is only one creature on this planet that bleeds for a week every month and doesnt die, so watch out for them" !! :x: :x: Sorry to all the nice Ladies that are on this forum !! Alan.... p.s. I wouldnt swop the one I have for anything !! Alan......
  8. Cheers for that ! :D As the original style of bumper doesnt have as many air holes as the one fitted to mine, I dont suppose putting the number plate there would hinder the cooling facility ??? Again, correct me if I am way out. ;) Thanx, Alan..........
  9. Any body remember Calimero ??? "Its an injustice it is" Alan......
  10. Mmmmm!! Wonder if I can get away with a slightly smaller plate on the front ?? That would make it even harder !! ;) Alan.....

  13. Cheers Chunk, As I aint working tomorrow, the 1st one off for 2 months, I will go and pour myself another Scotch !!! :duffer: It took longer to mark all the pipes etc to get the engine out than it did to fix it !! :p Alan....
  14. Vey humble mate !! A proper mechanic would probably have done it in a few weeks, it took me almost 6 months !! Had the engine out twice !! Would have taken longer, bar the advice I recieved here !! Alan.......
  15. Sunny Airdrie !! :D Only been on the road a few weeks. Not a mechanic. I am a coachbuilder by trade, so it took me a wee while to get my head round things !! Still, got there in the end ! :) Alan.....

  19. Glad you brought that up mate !! Is there any accessories available that would allow me to mount it in the front edge of the bumper ?? Sure I seen a Zed on this forum with my front, or similiar and it had the plate on the front ?? Dont really want to put it in the mesh grille. ;) Alan...... //
