Stay just outside Glasgow and on 24 hr call out most of the time to pay for this damn obsession !! ;) Maybe have to give it a miss !! Easy way to test, is disconnect the alternator and if it doesnt flatten the battery ??? ;) Alan....

Does my heated rear screen wire directly to the battery ? Also what should it Idle at 750 RPM at the mo is that ok. Mines idles at the same, and as far as I know, no accessory goes straight through the battery. Had the same prob and it turned out to be the alternator. Although it was charging ok, it had a burned out diode and was draining the battery over the course of a few days. Not a lot of help I know, but maybe something to check. Alan.......

Had the same problem and it turned out to be a very small pin hole in the rubber hose from the engine to the top radiator hose. Presumably, after the engine had been run and then parked up, it was leaking under pressure and dripping onto the alternator belt pulley. Causing it to squeal for a short time after start up. Just a thought. Alan.....

Right, you ready for this ?? It was an auto and somebody had the box away already. Was assured the engine was in perfect running order. Removed the engine complete with all ancillaries, and fitted the turbos onto mine ! Perfect !! 1st class condition. Engine looks dry and clean but never ever had the chance to try it, so it sits here taking up space. Also salvaged the ECM, MAF, Torque Convertor and a few other bits, including the digital clock that was working !!! Dont know whether to keep the spare engine, break or sell it ??? Alan......

As far as I was told, and we all know how stories can grow out of proportion, there was 4 lads in it, sitting on a ghost island waiting to turn right. A 7-tonner came up from behind with the driver too busy changing the cassette tape or summat, rammed into the rear, shoving it into oncoming traffic !!! :nono: All 4 people inside had dirty underwear, but no serious injuries, just winded and whiplash etc. ;) I wondered if any member on here maybe knew the car or recognised it !!! What is left of it anyways ! Alan......
