in car torbo removal?
WHOAA !!!! C`mon guys !!!! "CHILL" :D :D :D :D :D :D Its almost a new year and lets be honest here. If you have a Zed and you are loaded, then tear on and spend as much as you like, its your car. Do things the way you want to. If you also own a Zed and you have other commitments and watching the pennies, then repair as you see fit. Last thing we want is an all out war on whether you are worthy of having one or not. Chavs and Neds are the same thing I believe ??? Correct me if I am wrong ?? While there are no doubt a few tossers out there who buy these cars, thrash them and then move them on, as this club shows, there are more enthuisiasts on this site than anything else. Chill out as this thread was origionaly intended to help someone ! Remember ? Jeez, that was more like the Corvette Club there !! :xxx: Alan......

in car torbo removal?
See, exactly what I mean, we all have our opinions but they are sometimes relevant to people or not !! ;) The thing is to not be a snob and discriminate against people who are on a budget, but still help and encourage everybody with friendly advice and humour. :D :D Personally I would rather run an old Zed than a new Ford, just my choice. I have only had my Zed for 9 months, 6 months of that to get it running ok ! Without the benefits of being a member of this club, I wouldnt be as far on as I am. Cheers guys.  If you have enough capabilities to remove a turbo from a Zed, then I would like to think that you have enuff savvy to put it back together again ok. But we digress !! The thread was posted to ask; Can you remove 1 or both turbos from the car with the engine in ??? The answer is yes, but it is recommended to pull the engine ! Sorted ;) Alan.........

in car torbo removal?
At the end of the day, it is always better to remove the engine, as it lets you do other bits and pieces while its out. But not everybody has the facilities or premises etc to do this. If you are on a budget, by the time you have bought your turbos it may be more convenient for you to wrestle them out and re-fit them up your drive where you only need a decent jack and axle stands, and a few spare days. Oh, and the plasters !! ;) If you dont have the place or the engine lift, it is going to cost. Each and every one to their own I suppose. That is what makes this club so good. We all have our opinions, but always try to help out as the end result is to get a sick Zed up and running !! :D My tuppence worth anyways.. Alan......

in car torbo removal?
Yeah, but so does the n/s the 1st time you look at it ! Whats life without a challenge ??? The worst that can happen is you wait a week to let your knuckles heal then remove the engine ? :) Then put a smart thread on hear telling every body 1 way or another. Alan.......

in car torbo removal?
Had a good look at the o/s when I was under. Apart from the servo being a nuisance, it doesnt look any more difficult than the n/s. But, I wouldnt like to say for sure. As we all know the n/s can be done, give the o/s a try 1st to see how it goes. Alan.....

Stuck exhaust to turbo bolts.
We nipped around to a small exhaust & tyre place where he gave them a wee heat, rattled them off and tightened them back up. Drove home and removed them no probs, bunged the guy a fiver and he was quite happy. Go around lunchtime as they will do it on their break if they have an arsey boss. Originally went to Kwik-fit, but they refused on the grounds that if it leaked and poisoned somebody they could be held responsible !!! Alan......

Sorry for not getting back sooner mate, on 24hr call this week and all over Xmas too !! Company is called ; RECOAT LTD, ARCH 5, 157CURLE STREET, WHITEINCH, GLASGOW. Tel; 0141-958-1777 http://www.powder-coatings.co.uk I have used them before for bits for my past Yanks and when I spoke to him today he said if the springs are new, he would acid bath them and then coat, or if they are used, he would blast 1st and then coat. Usual choice of colours, ie red, black, blue, purple etc Oh, and illuminious green ?? ;) Cost is £5.00 per spring, but I forgot to ask if that was including vat ?? Sorry mate. If you can get it more locally and easier then tear on mate. If not bring em up with you and we will get it sorted. Cheers, Alan......

Bad crash in my zed
I had a bad one a few years ago when a Renault pulled out a side street and knocked me into a truck. Had to cut me out my TR7. Felt really apprehensive the next time I drove, especially every time I approached a junction, but the feeling goes away after a while, and your confidence returns. My mates said it deserved me right for having a TR7 !! :) Keep well mate, Alan......

Whats Youre Worst Alcoholic Drink Ever ??
Hi, Went to the works christmas night out last night. We always do this thing where all the names are chucked in a hat and we select 5 people. Next we select 2 drinks they can have all night, only these 2 drinks are allowed, nothing else except the occasional glass of water. I normally drink lager and whisky, but what did I get ??? Cider and Advocaat ?!?! I know for a fact that I went through 2 bottles of Advocaat in the main pub and cant remember how many other glasses I had in the following pubs, as well as the cider ?? How do I feel ?????? :duffer: = :hurl: :hurl: :hurl: :hurl: Never had a day like today in my life !! NEVER AGAIN !!!! So whats the strangest or most revolting thing you have ever drunk ?? Even the thought of scrambled egg smells like Advocaat !! :hurl: Again.. Ill Alan.......
