  1. Cheers guys, the engine will be going on to a stand for a little cleaning/detailing once it's out. Eventually it will be replacing the one in my new zed as that's not as powerful and has covered about 4x the miles, not to mention its also an auto with smaller turbo's and cams. So far I've taken off all the rads, hard pipes and most of the loom but I'm not a mechanic so It's very much a case of on the job training...lol
  2. Repair it mate, chances are the other two you've been looking at will also need welding/work etc (especially the UK one!) :)
  3. You offering to do it for me mate?:rofl:
  4. lol... took me bloody ages to make one!
  5. I've got to remove the engine from my old zed, had a look at the engine removal FAQ in the faqs section but it doesn't work :headvswal I've got the service manuals that tell you briefly how to get it out but I was wondering if one of our resident guru's would be kind enough to do another engine removal faq? :D I've never removed an engine before let alone a zeds and could do with a little advice and tips. cheers Dave
  6. I took out a fully comp policy on my old zed just one month before my accident. The insurance has now paid out but are still pursuing a county council for black ice/no grit on a major section of the A47. The only thing I am looking for is having the "at fault" removed from my records. As I'd had the policy for less than month before my car was written of I was wondering if I would be entitled to a refund on the policy for the rest of the year? Bit cheeky of me but does anyone know? cheers dave
  7. 1,200 euro's for a year  I thought I was getting shafted at £101 for 6 months..lol
  8. good news  I've asked Dan for a price on an apexi.
  9. I had a blitz on my old zed but tbh it looked like a k+n to me!
  10. Never mind mate you'll be enjoying it soon with your V8 beast!
  11. Can't agree with you more mate, I love the kick you get out of them. I had roughly the same mods as you and when I hit kickdown it feels like the front wheels lift off the road
  12. cheers guys, apexi it is then!
  13. Was thinking about getting one of these for my TT. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BLITZ-LM-INDUCTION-KIT-NISSAN-300ZX-TWIN-TURBO_W0QQitemZ260295067315QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item260295067315&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1689|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318 Are they any good? or is there a better option? Cheers
  14. at least they had the decency to apologise for snorting his sister! LMAO
  15. Cheers for that mate, but I had a look and all i've got is the seat tensioner wires :( So I'm going to have to make up some leads for connecting my electric seats, which should be fun... not
  16. My G was an 89 and my L is a 93
  17. It was the targa Drain pipe that had come out of the tube that goes through the wing that was causing my wet floor. I tried to put it back in but the pipe wouldn't reach  Popped the window pillar cover off again to see if I could move the pipe and it did fit, however the pipe was being pulled tight so when the pillar cover went back on it came out at the bottom again  So I took a bit of brass rod about 5/6" round and with the help of my dad and his Myford, we made a little basin/funnel type fitting. This fits perfectly into the wing drain tube and the targa pipe then sits in the basin at the top, resulting in the drain now working as it should :hyper: I'm really chuffed how it turned out, yeah it may be a bit over-engineered but I had fun and used a lathe for the first time.
  18. Cheers Legrath, i've found a tube that's not connected to anything! It's just above the white plastic harness connector block, looks like it's dripping down on to the harness above the ecu, then onto the ecu cover board. Just got to figure out how to get at the bugger without talking the dash off! lol
  19. Right, I've popped off the window pillar and poured water down the drain plug, there doesn't appear to be any splits in the pipe. Next, I got my little compressor out and blew air down the hole, put some more water in and it's dripping out from the bottom of the wing but I'm still getting water dripping into the footwell as well - it's dripping onto the wood panel covering the ecu :headvswal Help!! What do I do now
  20. Aw mate, I'm gutted for you. I know how that feels :(
  21. Thanks for that mate, that's tomorrow's job sorted..lol
  22. oh, ffs I was looking in the bloody car! lol Cheers mate :duffer:
