  1. Doesn't sound anything like that, must be lifters then....... Just about finished doing the zed. lol Think I will just chuck some more lifter treatment in when it's on the road and see what happens :) Cheers
  2. I've already put some in mate, not really helped :( I do agree about the good run though. Problem is that the engine hasn't really been used much since Jan 2009 as the cars been getting rebuilt, so was sort of expecting a tappet like noise for while. A good run would help it out a great deal as apart from that everything else is sweet. I'm not really worried about it but was just wondering if I should change the VVT springs any way?
  3. Have you checked your TPS voltage is ok? I would take the iaa off and strip it down. It's sounding like you have a leaking seal in the iaa.
  4. Think you dreamt that one mate.... Can't remember seeing anything like that :(
  5. Sounds like the unit itself is on it's way out mate. Have you taken it off and given it a clean?
  6. Does it not have to be a TOAD authorised dealer then?
  7. Sweet ride dude.....
  8. Not had anything as bad as that. But it has officially rained every day of April in Cambs. No rain today though, so far.
  9. Welcome matey :)
  10. I've got a weird tappety like ticking sound that seems to be coming from the back of the engine. The noise goes away above 2k rpm but is quite loud below this. I was thinking that it might be a problem with the vvt springs, but that's just a guess at the moment. Anybody have any ideas? Being a bit of a tight git I haven't any way of recording the noise
  11. Haven't really looked yet mate. But I did do a very quick search on their website and couldn't find any TOAD dealers in Huntingdon, Peterboro' or Cambridge :(
  12. That's a bargain, I've got one of their normal 3 drawer slide boxes and it's great quality.
  13. I thought it was just me that suffered this?
  14. Car electrics eh, don't you love them. lol A couple of other electrical things to look out for are; Water running down the drivers or passengers footwell on to the electrics, this can cause some weird electrical issues. It's normally caused by the targa drains being block or leaking. The series 1 PTU (front left of the engine has alloy cooling fins and is bit bigger than a fag packet) can also cause running problems due to it overheating. Can either be relocated and replaced with a s/h one or upgraded to a series 2 PTU which cured the problem. And finally, a lot of zeds have butchered wiring where gauges, stereos etc have been poorly installed so it's worth checking that out. Sounds a lot but they are all easily solved :)
  15. Welcome matey :)
  16. Haven't heard of any common ECU failure issues on the zed matey. The stock ecu is a pretty robust piece of kit and if it does fail then they are readily available s/h for a few quid. The main electrical issues that the zed can have is corroded plugs on the loom or brittle wires in the engine bay. All these are relatively easily solved if your handy with a soldering iron and some contact cleaner. HTH
  17. That would be a double order of no, with grated no and a side order of no. lol The tubs work sequentially i.e. together so you'll have one spooling a lot faster than the other.
  18. Too many Cheese slices from Greggs mate? You look fooked
  19. The only way to really tell is to take them apart and see, there isn't any markings on the outside iirc. tbh, You'll be fine with auto tubs on a manual. There isn't really any difference in performance in the real world.
  20. still shag sheep though, don't ya ;)
  21. Odd one?? Have you accidentally crushed/kinked the brake pipe when you put the sub frame on?
  22. No worries mate. I bought some ez bleed nipples last year and I'm pretty sure that brembo and the oem callipers have the same size m10x1.
  23. Any good to you? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bleed-nipples-x-4-Metric-M10x1-Ford-Brembo-etc-/320723820325?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4aaca11f25
  24. I was thinking more like this mate :whistling: http://youtu.be/RXeCevTNes8 (Make sure you've got your sound up!):lol::lol:
