Speeding Tickets and Agenda
Something I discovered .... Speeding Tickets and Agenda If you ever need an example to demonstrate that security is a function of agenda, use this story about speed cameras. Cities that have installed speed cameras are discovering motorists are driving slower, which is decreasing revenues from fines. So they're turning the cameras off. Fines should never be considered part of a revenue stream: it gives the police a whole new incentive -- and one we don't want them to have. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23710970

HELP...Thinking about a 350 Z !!!
My boss in the US has a G35, it's ok and it does have the funky semi-auto box. A 350Z does not, so don't see how it meets your criteria.

Parts from other cars that fit the 300ZX?
Yup. Although I think those were Eric's pics rather than my actual hubs, but they look identical obviously.

What about a 'Tech. Day/Weekend'?
Cue driveshaft installation joke ! :D

What about a 'Tech. Day/Weekend'?
A great idea, maybe a discussion is better than the actual practical doing, unless it's demos on specific cars, otherwise there is a risk of people being stranded with a broken car. SE/NissTek used to do this occasionally as an Open day.

CPU upgrade question ...
Well monitoring performance to identify the bottleneck would be the first thing to do, could be disk speed, memory speed or cpu performance or some sort o0f conflict. However, should you decide to change the cpu all your generally need to do would be remove the old one and plug in the new - the BIOS will auto detect correctly 99% of the time. Updating to the latest BIOS beforehand would be a good idea, but there is always an inherent risk in fiddling with stuff like that.

Help ! Excessive pressure, not vacuum
Excess fuel is always returned to the tank, therefore if air can't vent though the filler cap and if the fuel check valve is blocked then pressure could build up if air can still be drawn into the tank. Otherwise the volume of fuel returned will always be less than that removed. If the fuel check valve isn't blocked, then surely you are likely to push fuel into the carbon canister, not just vapour - if it blows out the filler cap, it must blow the other way too.

Help ! Excessive pressure, not vacuum
OK, I just read the manual ! The diagram on EF & EC-189 (in my manual) shows the fuel filler cap having a vacuum relief valve - therefore I think we can assume it's supposed to be a vacuum in the tank. The separate vapour vent line, with a one way valve to prevent fuel escaping goes to the carbon canister. The canister is open to atmosphere (it looks like) and the vapour is only drawn through to the intake manifold when the engine is running. In theory there should be no pressure in the tank, the only way I can see there being some is if pressure (under boost) from the intake manifold is directed to the tank - has your carbon canister been messed with/bypassed/connected incorrectly ?

Diesel R8 Lol
Didn't they change the rules last time to disadvantage the diesels (eg smaller fuel tanks) and they still won ?
-
Diesel R8 Lol
Yep, I think there's a lot of future in diesel as a sports car engine. Huge torque, just not a high reving engine, I presume this is because diesel just doesn't burn that fast, ie slow flame path, so the faster it revs the less time it has to burn the fuel. Audi are bringing out a diesel version of the coupe too.

Bio fuel is going to be added to uk fuel soon!
I thought some fuel already had 5%, but that's probably Tesco diesel.

PC help
Chris, I looked at my Mobo and it's not identical to yours, it's an A8V-VM(SE), so not sure what you may/may not be able to fiddle with in the BIOS.

PC help
Seems to be a few similar problems that people have reported, some have suggested reducing the memory clock speed from DDR400 to 333, apparently that is possible with certain BIOS versions. Some people also talk about increasing the memory voltage slightly. The manual lists only certain manufacturers memory as being 'qualified' for use - suggests to me that it could be sensitive. However, all the ons in the list are 512Mb, presumably becuase the manual/mobo are a couple of years old.

PC help
Yeah, I know, but I seldom use that machine and have never really fiddled with it.

Yep, just clarifying the correct configuration. Have you tried the two new sticks on their own in slots 1 & 2 ? If that works then put one of the old ones in slot three and see if you get 3GB ? Have you run a memory check in the BIOS ? Are there any configuration settings for memory in the BIOS on that Mobo ?
