  1. The issue is not freedom of speech but of culpability. In it's archaic way the law views the publisher culpable for the content and whilst this is orientated towards paper rather than electronic publication, the publisher could be viewed as either the ISP (Mike's company) or the owner of the service/domain etc (Craig) or even the moderators (Me, Mike, Andrew,Gio,Martin). Whilst Mike's company will have liability insurance we do not, so in the worst possible case we have EVERYTHING to lose from a court test case when the lawyers get carried away. To be realistic this is unlikely to happen, but nonetheless we have no desire to be standing next to Ian Hislop in court ;)
  2. I have the CD (Mike Feeney got it from me ! LOL) Easiest thing to do is email me a photo of the VIN plate and I can tell you the month of manufacture, plus confirm some other details, which can help in confirming whether you has maintained it's "original identity" when in Japan. Offer is open to all with Jap imports of course, not 100% certain that my CD covers Euro cars.
  3. I live near Dunmow but work in Harlow. I've seen a silver import around a couple of times, also a red one (can't remember whether it's import or not). Also saw a silver one parked in Takeley recently. We should have a mini-meet sometime, plus try and make an effort to attend the Essex meet later this month.

Is it the pipes, servo or the tank ? It could be a fairly easy DIY jobbie !
  5. Lies, threats, suppositions, rumours and general insults may be moderated. Don't make us do it. !
  6. Might have run better if he'd asked for Toluene ! LOL :D:D
  7. Too right and I was considering those sorts of cars at the same time as I bought the Zed. However, if I'd have just stuck with my old Renault (same age as the Zed), then it would probably have only cost me a few grand in fuel/tyres etc and then I would be quids in.
  8. Well I bought mine about 4 years ago and I've definitely been 'quids out', but what the hell - it's been fun and continues to be so. What else would I have done with the £30K plus that I've basically burnt travelling to work and back in that time ....
  9. Colin, I see you're in Harlow, would you own the red or the silver one I've seen around occasionally. You may have noticed mine - metallic blue.

Now this looks kind of informational !
  14. Brown tape and hairy string ? (Always worked for rally cars!)
  15. Mike Feeney suggested A & M Gearbox Services in Springfield, Chelmsford. (01245) 450800. Reckons they're quick and efficient plus weren't phased by a Z gearbox. You may have alternatives closer to home.
  16. I reckon I nearly hit my head on it, but apart from that I did notice it looked OK. Was more interested in more important things at the time though ...
  17. I've known Ken for a while, mainly through Mike Feeney. Bit of a wheeler/dealer type, but a nice genuine person and as you say an enthusiast. He's very involed in the Z Club who meet at the Halfway House on the A13 on the first Sunday lunchtime of every month. I'm only about 20 miles north of that so I drop in occasionally.
  18. Now I'm intrigued ..... has someone stolen all the rust from your car and hence only the seats and tyres are left ? :D
  19. Aha, yes indeed. I was there on Saturday myself. Company is called ZXS.
  20. Where did you get it ? And having (not) done this myself I would seriously recommend getting it overhauled before you get it in the car. Most of the manual boxes I've seen have some sort of problem and an early fix is a cheap(er) fix. Synchro on 4th is usually worn.
  21. Sounds like your auto box imobiliser switch could be Donald Ducked. It can be bypassed quite easily.

  23. Late last Saturday night; a young chap was walking home from the pub. It was a cold, wet, windy evening, and he was tired and freezing. Most of the streetlights in the area were broken, and the silence was only broken by the occasional sound of a stray cat sifting through a dustbin. Then suddenly he heard a strange noise....... BUMP........ BUMP........ BUMP........ Startled by this, he turned, and to his amazement, through the driving rain, he saw the faint outline of a large box turning into his road. BUMP........ BUMP........ BUMP........ He froze to the spot, he couldn't believe his eyes, as the box approached from the shadows, he was able to make out its shape more clearly....It was a coffin. Not wanting anything to do with this, he put his head down and started walking briskly home. BUMP........ BUMP........ BUMP........ He could feel the coffin gaining on him, he started walking faster......... BUMP........BUMP....... BUMP........BUMP....... BUMP........BUMP........ The coffin was closing with his every step, he started to jog, but he heard the coffin speed up after him...... BUMP........BUMP...BUMP... BUMP........BUMP...BUMP... BUMP........BUMP...BUMP... He started to sprint, but so did the coffin ....... BUMP...BUMP...BUMP...BUMP..... BUMP...BUMP...BUMP...BUMP..... BUMP...BUMP...BUMP...BUMP..... Eventually he made it to his front door, but he knew the coffin was only seconds behind. Fumbling around in his pocket, he pulled out his keys, His hand trembling, he managed to open the lock, he dived inside slamming the front door behind him. He shot into his front room, and slumped into his comfy chair. Suddenly there was a loud crash, as the coffin smashed its way through the front door. The force of the impact broke the lock off the coffin allowing the lid to swing freely on its rusty hinges it continued its chase..... BUMP...SCREECH...BUMP...SCREECH... BUMP...SCREECH...BUMP...SCREECH... BUMP...SCREECH...BUMP...SCREECH... BUMP...SCREECH...BUMP...SCREECH... In horror the young lad fled again, as fast as his shaking legs could take him he bolted upstairs to the bathroom and locked the door........ BUMP...SCREECH...HOP...BUMP...SCREECH...HOP... BUMP...SCREECH...HOP...BUMP...SCREECH...HOP... BUMP...SCREECH...HOP...BUMP...SCREECH...HOP... The coffin again gave chase up the stairs, across the landing and launched itself at the bathroom door. With an almighty smash, the bathroom door flew off its hinges..... The coffin stood in the doorway, then started to approach the young terrified lad. BUMP...SCREECH...BUMP...SCREECH... BUMP...SCREECH...BUMP...SCREECH... BUMP...SCREECH...BUMP...SCREECH... In a last ditch attempt to save his skin, he reached for his bathroom cabinet...... He grabbed a bar of Imperial Leather soap and threw it at the coffin.......still it came ........ BUMP...SCREECH...BUMP...SCREECH... He grabbed his can of Lynx deodorant and threw it ........still it came...... BUMP...SCREECH...BUMP...SCREECH... He grabbed his first aid kit and threw it ......still it came...... BUMP...SCREECH...BUMP...SCREECH... He grabbed some Benelyn cough mixture and threw it........ The coffin stopped.
  24. I'd say between £300-600 depending upon UK/Jap and your location. Mine is Jap and I pay a little under £400 in rural Essex !
