  1. Dammit, I bet I did .... Trouble is it could be any one if the stacks of people who've been round my place ....
  2. PTU's can fail in two different ways. Either conpletely when the main earth breaks or on a single cylinder when a different wire breaks. Borrow one to see if that fixes it. I have a spare Series II one and I'll be in Middlewich this weekend, which is only about 25 miles from you if you can't find one closer. (I also have a spare AFM) - Two birds, one stone etc ....
  3. I saw something on the Aus site ages back which suggested that the X was a more efficient solution than the H. However, one of the more popular systems, the Mongoose, has no link at all as previously stated. Unless you're searching for some extreme perfection I don't expect it will make much difference.
  4. Yes, 10w40 is an appropriate grade

One of Smithy's fuel line kits should do the the trick.
  6. Impatient git ! :D lol MTL will be in touch ...
  7. I'm always suspicious when multiple things fail at once. Also, when the AFM fails the engine won't rev above 2400rpm IIRC
  8. I think it's more likely to be a bad connection to the ECU - check that big blue plug.
  9. Obviously, I know nothing about this and would never do it because it's illegal etc ! But I have read that you need to be careful what type of fuel(diesel) pump the car has. Some use the fuel as a lubricant, some have an external oil feed. Veg oil is a very poor lubricant and the pump will die pretty quick. Guess it's ok if you're just running a small-ish percentage though.
  10. Difficult to say for certain whether it's a Series I or II, you'd need to look at the a/c to be sure. However, seatbelt on the doors would usually indicate a Series I, but the interior trim does look like the Series II velour rather than the Series I hessian type stuff. Only guaranteed method is to check the VIN and the manufacturing date lables around the car. http://www.300zx.org.uk/model_variations.htm http://www.300zx.org.uk/import_dating.htm
  11. I don't think it'll be G8 related, too far from those meetings, plus the targets would be more commercial/government related.
  12. Looks like a series of fairly low level terrorist attacks. I'm surprised they've cut the mobile phone networks though - unless they know the bombs were triggered by phones that likley to cause even more disruption and panic.
  13. But on the up side, heating oil is still about 25p per litre .....

  15. "AOL is evil" - repeat after me - "AOL is evil" ....
  16. Not sure why this causes a problem for some people and not for others. It certainly worked for me a few days ago. Anybody have any ideas ?
  17. Thanks
  18. We had a bank transfer from someone with a ref of Page G Bill - was unable to identify you as a current member. Not a big issue but it's helpful to know who has made the contributions.

  20. Try this :- https://secure.widearea.co.uk/dennis/campaigns/3019/opening_341.html Only an introductory offer, but for £1 you can't go wrong ....
  21. I went to St.Evenage today and the A10 and A604 were all messed up too ! Anyway, you had the day off so time to get the car sorted then ...... (Only Chris was at work so you were knackered! LOL)
  22. Some of the BT supplied modems are notoriously shite, specifically the 'clam shell' ones. If yours is one of those then I'd suggest getting a new one from a reputable manufacturer.
  23. I'll let you off ! Thanks for owning up.
  24. I know these are good deals, but does the RAC (or AA) do 'official' discounts for Car Clubs etc ?
