  1. It stops the nuts coming undone when there's lots of vibration ! ;)
  2. ROFL
  3. Zovirax pays my wages (indirectly), so keep taking it. However, once you've got that stuff it'll keep coming back forever. Keeping yourself healthy and looking after your body will help fend it off though ...
  4. Yep, all sorted by a mate of mine. I'm only really the driver, little does he know what a roller coaster ride lies in store !
  5. Sounds like there a big 'love-in' going on up there somewhere !
  6. But on the upside, my diesel car does 45mpg. The best petrol car I've ever had was 34mpg and the Z does 20mpg. It saves me a packet as I do about 20,000 a year. Also, it doesn't seem to wear out tyres, unlike the Z.
  7. I'm going Thurs morning and will be mixing it with a bunch of porkers, Ferraris and a lowly BMW and Audi or two ....
  8. Whose Nan though ?!?
  9. I use the local Tesco stuff at 86.9p. Of course if you buy £50 worth of nosh then you can get 5p off. Lidl is the best place for veggie oil I think. You can run 30-50% without too much trouble, although certain types of fuel pump are fussy about it. Can get it for as little as 33p per litre ! Need to make sure it's not nut oil in disguise though - lots of diesels have a nut intolerance !!!!
  10. More or less. The uplink speed is limited by the size of the pipe back to my ISP and ultimately their connection to BT. Their link to BT is 8Mb. The radio link from my house to the tower is actually limited by the radios defaulting to 7Mb, this could be increased if they felt the need, but as their link to BT is 8Mb, then there's not much point.
  11. ADSL is asymetric and SDSL is symetric. So in theory SDSL is the same bandwidth in both directions. As it turns out my ISP does not bother to rate limit upwards, so it's regulated by bearer speed, or slightly less as the radios default to 7Mb rather than 8Mb. Clear as mud ? And my ISP is http://www.w20.net
  12. Pah ! S'nuthin .... Mine is nominally 2Mb SDSL, but in actual fact it's 2Mb down and 7Mb up !
  13. Sounds unpleasantly like the symptoms I had before it died !

Think carefully before announcing to the world that you won't be at home for a couple of weeks ... You may come home to find less there than when you left !
  15. It can also be a problem with engine mounts.
  16. Holy Shatmobile !
  17. Yep, that's where my mates one came from.
  18. The standard autobox oil cooler is so feeble I doubt whether it would make any difference ! cretianly not over short journeys. In fact I did wonder whether the oil flowing through the main rad, as it does, was done in order to heat it up faster ....
  19. http://www.tokyoauto.co.jp/ My other half is going there tomorrow !
  20. Not that particular weeekend, but I am frequently back and forth between the SE and NW.
  21. Easiest thing to do is get one of these :- http://www.screwfix.com/app/sfd/cat/pro.jsp?ts=62706&id=26053 I do have the cable spec written somewhere though ...
  22. Presumably it has a squishy gasket underneath. Better than shearing off the studs anyway !
  23. Certainly seems to be performing a little better at the moment.
