overfueling
A whiff of fuel is probably bad if it's being drawn down that pipe. Blanking it temporarily should cause no problems. Dunno how tight you'd have to squeeze the hose to be sure of shutting it off. All you really need to do is blank off the balance bar end, in theory nothing should come through the damper.

overfueling
Well the top left "9" is the vacuum pipe to the fuel damper.

gearbox change
You'll need all these bits :- Gearbox Gear lever New leather gear lever boot Master cylinder Slave cylinder All hydraulic pipework Pedal box Flywheel Pressure plate Clutch disk Throw out bearing Front half of the propshaft The plate that sits between engine & gearbox Wiring loom for the reverse & neutral gearbox switches Both clutch servo vacumn tanks + pipework I would also recommend replacing all the cheap rubber bits like dust seals and so on, plus the gear shift bush and the gearbox rear mount & prop centre bearing.

Want terminal speed should I expect in each gear
With standard tyres -245/45ZR16 on 8.5J X 16 rims, the manual twin turbo (final drive ratio 3.69:1) the turbo achieves the following speeds: Gear MPH RPM 1st 43 7200 2nd 72 7200 3rd 107 7200 4th 139 7200 5th 155 6000 with speed limiter 5th 165 6400 without speed limiter 5th 186 7200 intermittent theoretical, rev limited The equivalent table for the non turbo, final drive ratio 4.083:1 is: Gear MPH RPM 1st 39 7200 2nd 65 7200 3rd 97 7200 4th 126 7200 5th 148 6300 Power limited 5th 168 7200 intermittent theoretical, rev limited The automatic ratios are: 1st 2.78, 2nd 1.54, 3rd 1.00, 4th 0.69, so results for the turbo are (Maximum, as actual speeds will depend on torque converter slip): Gear MPH RPM 1st 48 7200 Held in first 2nd 87 7200 Held in second 3rd 139 7200 Held in 3rd, overdrive off 4th 155 5500 with speed limiter 4th 178 6400 without speed limiter, not attainable by stock TT 4th 201 7200 intermittent theoretical, rev limited The equivalent table for the non turbo automatic. Gear MPH RPM 1st 43 7200 Held in first 2nd 80 7200 Held in second 3rd 126 7200 Held in 3rd, overdrive off 4th ?? ?? maximum?? 4th 161 6400 not attainable by stock NA 4th 182 7200 intermittent theoretical, rev limited

Can probably help you out with the speed derestricter, as long as the car is a manual.

overfueling
Take a look at the vacuum pipes on the fuel damper, in fact, blank them off and then test it. It is possible that it's sucking fuel in through it ! Alternatively, did someone mix up the O2 sensor and cam advance plugs down the back of the engine ? Get a ConZult on it - may help.

bLiNg Floor Mats
I thought the whole point of having a car was to make it warm, comfy and quiet inside - eg having carpets. If I wanted to rough it I'd sit in the back of Macca's pickup ! ;)

sensor
Not sure there is a separate fuse for the intermittant wipe. It could be that the wiper controller box is sick ...

My new brakes don't fit !
Sorted ! Turns out my new calipers are off a 350Z, which is basically the same as the Skyline except for the offset. So thanks to Mike Feeney I now have a set of matching 350Z discs - perfect ! Just done a trial fit so far, will complete the job tomorrow.

NZR: New Worm Attacks MSN Messenger
If you use MSN Instant Messenger, be aware that a new worm called Kelvir is targeting IM users. It can detect the language being used by your computer and send messages in English, Dutch, French, German, Greek, Italian, Spanish, and several other languages. The worm sends a message from infected systems to everyone in your contacts list, which contains a link to a Web site that will download "backdoor" software on the system of whomever clicks on it. All versions of Windows are affected. Read more about it here: http://news.zdnet.co.uk/i/z/iti/pri/728/hdr-toolkit-virusesspam.jpg

What next?
The diff mod you refer to is probably the cooler that is fitted to Euro spec cars. I don't know of any one who's fitted one to a Jap car, but I do resollect someone removing one from a UK. Overall I guess they're not so important. Gearbox cooler is though - the stock one is effectively useless.
