1. cheers mate :) ill be at Llandow south wales on saturday 5th of march doing the last BDC licence day of the year.... :/ hopefully my diff, lock and diet will'v made the difference....the extra steering lock has made a massive difference so far that iv noticed.
2. you have a better lighter stiffer shell tho?, no hicass, etc?? like mine :) was well worth the conversion!!
3. nervous of this, i really wanna give it a go but how much to remove? maby this was an attempt to limit the car to its supposed 280bhp??
4. me thinks you make moulds and ill have two!
5. AND DONT THINK YOUR SAVING TIME BUY RETAINING YOUR NA CLUTCH AND FLYWHEEL...... i did that..... died after 6 months and that was a spanking na exeedy clutch!!! i now have an epic 6 puc carbon ceramic thing that cost more than the cars worth married up to a custom made lightened and balanced flywheel..... OH annnnnd you need an electronic boost controller as the NA wiring loom has no wires for boost solenoids sadly (shame) lol!
6. only bit i had a problem with was i had no oil cooler, the na box didnt fit over the tt flywheel so you have to do a little bit of grinding in the lower section of the box and a little on the side, (not difficult atall) their is some difference in the fuel pump and fuel pump ecu but i retained the na fuel ecu and just upgraded to a TT pump, seems fine, everything else was easy, oh and the carbon canister had to go, and the egr (didnt have to go i just didnt want it there).... thats about it easy id do it again, it took 4 days (46 hours of work over 4 days) a fully stocked garage over a bank holiday, ramp and an engine crane...... oh and we were drunk out of our minds on frogs too.
7. rreeeeeeaaaaallly easy with these fitted, have you seen the pic? massive difference in drifting and parking!! and my car is hella low!, were going further with the spacers i recon i can get 4 either end, i ground off the lock stops on the hubs (or i coulda just hit them) AND there's an internal lock stop inside the rack, reckon we could get another 20's out of it in total, might need to start tubbing the inner arches out
8. plexi sliders look so kool tho!!! need plexi glass!!!!!!
9. i stuck 3 of these http://www.driftworks.com/shop/steering-angle-spacers.html on each end of the steering rack between the (rod and the rack inside the rubber boot) you can either buy them for that ridiculous price or spend 40p on 12 from B&Q or likewise
10. ill take a pic of my (lack) of interior, much weight in the door cards?
11. see iv got the centre console and armrest gone too (although its been replaced by a hydrolic handbrake whats behind the glove box? (nothing?) lol!
12. lol!! yea iv noticed the passenger seat is lower than the driver seat and i fit in with that seat in the drivers seat position + helmet, although i should really buy a bucket! need to replace the roof glass with plexi glass somehow!!! lol!!
13. although possible with rack spacers... iv drifted a MR2 turbo but like the swb 300's they spin allll the time too
14. cost me £500 for the engine and all ancillarys, and £300 to do the conversion, i love my car :)
15. mate of mines running 300+bh using that ebc in his 14a....its reliable and has been for over 2 years i run a greddy profec b spec II.... ;)
16. iphone wont let me search sadly :/ the boot is super lightweight now bar the glass, so ill get on that asap!!
17. http://www.customcages.co.uk/Rollcage/LoadRollCage.castle?manufacturer=Nissan&model=300ZX&type=Multipoint is that a 2+2?? i think so tbh
18. red is done, iv lost all aircon bits, and all the sound deadening crap, egr, air pumps and a few other bits and bobs, custom cages make a half cage for the 2+2 so im getting them to do a full 6 point through the dash jobbie, windows would be a good start wheres that thread? iv sorted the steering lock out... which has made a massive difference to drifting and parking!!! and it got 40p, no other modifications required either!! before.. after.. and a few more
19. It suites the veilside skirts (i think) it's the low level version of the high rise spoiler available off that uk z parts website
20. It was a licence day, those whopassed at pro/ semi pro were then eligable to compete in this years British drift championship. I was told the driving was bdc standard however the car was not and held me back, the weight was an issue, it's fat ass + the lack of steering lock caused some shallow angles the power was good, the diff lt me down in the tight technical parts a few times nothing the hydrolic handbrake couldn't fix but an unnecisary hinderence non the less, I saw a White zed go round he track looked and sounded awesom!
21. theres not been a z32 in any drift event in the uk as far as im aware, there's a german z32 drift car, 2 in japan (there were more but they were wrecked) and a couple in the US i enjoy drifting but im fairly tired of the same old S body cars, s13, s14/a, s15, or gtst32/33/34, rps13, sil80's its been done to death, the 350z is widely used in the US so why not the 300? there's a few reasons i can see, pitiful lock to lock steering, weight and glass roofs are not in its favour but the power of a standard vg (which is enough and what semi pro Sbody SR's aim for) + a bit of a tweek, my NA shell and subframe, lock spacers and diff shims i think iv got a fairly good blue print for a drift car... well we'll soon see :) more importantly it was a good laugh. ;D
