  1. Cheers mate I'll give that a go tomorrow Only bad thing is, I reckon I might have stripped it off the LWB already without even knowing what it was.....doh:blushing: Can't remember if I binned it, so I might be after a replacement if it turns out that the starter motor is fubar'
  2. I reckon that the starter motor is on its way out on the shortie. Over the last few days, everytime I turn the key in the ignition to start her up it sounds similar to if you try turning the ignition on a car when it's already running.... on the second attempt it fires up ok, but only a matter of time before it fails completely. I've got a spare starter motor on my '91 LWB TT; I assume that it will fit a newer '95 SWB TT? The clutch needs replacing as a priority (the new one comes with flywheel already attached), would it make sense to do both at the same time, as I haven't got a clue where the starter motor is on a zed? Is it an easy job, changing the starter motor on a zed? cheers
  3. I'm sure this was for sale earlier this year in the UK, asking for around the £70k mark if I remember right?
  4. You are absolutely right of course, the profile on those tyres (rather than the fact that they are 255s on a 10" wide rim) was too low and hence those rims aren't on the shortie' anymore.... though I blame the road works that buckled the inner rim for the tyre coming off....possibly due in part to the low profile :whistling:
  5. Easier to curb, definately agree but as for handling, from my experience recently I would suggest that it's not always the case as with anything there are numerous variables some interesting points are raised in this thread (below) http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1018253
  6. I can remember being involved in the Op Fresco fire fighter strikes in '97 and '02. Nothing wrong with firemen asking for a pay rise in my eyes, but having been away on ops for 6 months and then being told just before you get on the flight home, that your leave has been postponed because firemen don't make enough from their second income.... Teachers/Nurses/Police/military etc are in my opinion under paid and over worked but I can't see it changing any time soon Striking will make people aware and will drum up public support to a certain degree, however public support will inevitably dwindle and the government know this, so will just ride it out
  7. Was Jeremy Clarkson US president before or after Bush senior.....I can never remember? :tongue_smilie:
  8. So am I reading this right then? Crap OEM zed lights = Can't see s**t, so crash into tree at night......but they are 100% legal whereas Excellent upgrade HID lights = Huge improvement resulting in you actually being able to see at night, thereby reducing the chance of crashing into said tree.....but which 'may or may not' be legal why does it not surprise me......
  9. Not quite an Omega  do they sell 'Z' cufflinks and tie pins as well?
  10. I meant the front bumper but it's much clearer now cheers fellas..... yes it will fit because it's too short, got it :confused1:
  11. Probably been asked a thousand times before but will a LWB bumper fit a SWB? cheers
  12. Wouldn't that make the already small intake vents even more restrictive though? Unless it causes some sort of venturi effect but I wouldn't have thought so?
  13. We're not gonna' see another 'thread closed' because yada, yada are we..... back on topic, I assume this is just for an N/A due to minimal smic ventage?
  14. Does this differ slightly for the later non-hydraulic HICAS setup?
  15. Thanks for the info fellas, much appreciated :thumbup1:
  16. :confused1: not sure about that mate?
  17. ^^^^^ the man speaks sense
  18. Fair game then :thumbup1:
  19. Was the Impreza aware of what was taking place though? The full fat turbo scooby's are a bit nippy...
  20. Granted it's not your usual chrome endowed, bling pretty zed but at the same time there have been plenty of rust riddled zeds that look a hell of a lot worse than this one, that have been pulled back from the brink of the scrapyard. With some relatively minor work this could be improved ten fold, and to be fair a UK built RB25 powered zed shows ambition and a tad of creativity in my book. I'd applaud the guy for that and wouldn't necessarily consider him a clown. It's not finished but could be a nice project for someone who wants to get away from the norm' just my 2p worth
  21. I think you're being a bit harsh, it's not finished has a bit of MadMax appeal
