  1. the hicas light will come on, and the steering will go heavy if the speedo is not working, also could be a faulty speed delimiter so thats the area you should be looking at
  2. i think what your asking anyone is going to a bit wary m8 with all the changes recently at dvla, the address your wanting to use will be liable for taxing/sorning the car, be liable for any offences committed, and i for one wouldnt fancy interpol knocking on the door to find out why the car was used in 20 armed robberies, maybe all quite innocent m8, but doesn't sound the wisest move
  3. have to agree, like anything totally depends on the car/owner personally and im sure like most on here, after spending ££££'s to get the car looking the way i want, apart from motorways i look after the car, rather pointless spending good money and then drive it like the local chav with his fluffy dice, as for keeping it standard and it will be worth more, i reckon they are thinking of things like triumph stags/mark 1 escorts etc (Mac will you swop cars please, as mines not as modded as yours so mines worth lots more isnt it??? :nelson: )
  4. as above the nec is the most reliable they also last 3 times as long as the pioneers i have them in multiple sequences, and regardless of the cost the nec's are more durable;)

  6. maybe they assume you aint gonna pay that either so they're saving money
  7. i actually think its a good idea in theory for security supposed to stop an absent parent removing a child from the country BUT not sure how sensible having the same photo for a baby for 5 years is?????????
  8. your looking at about £40 by courier m8 royal mail will redirect you to parcel force and suck you dry they have to be boxed/packed and as long as they are not to heavy? better strapping two together with the bands or similar, lot cheaper 2 parcels than 4, A LOT cheaper if one, but not seen an arnie look alike courier who will lift them in one
  9. as i said in Macs post last week, ive got my lad a nokia 7610 on contract which he lost, so they sent a new one via the insurance and decided i wasnt giving it to him as he doesnt use it a lot and with 800 free minutes was a waste, so gave the 7610 to the wife, and was weighing up between the 6630 and a samsung d500 for the lad http://www.mobile-phones-uk.org.uk/samsung-d500.htm i was put off a few reviews of the 6630 over software problems, may have been bull, like anything you only hear the bad, the lad is well impressed with the d500, walking around playing mp3s and taking photos, to tell you the truth ive not heard him ring anyone lol now got 3 phones on contract as ive got the Motorola RAZR V3, brilliant for in the pocket as its so slim, i must get into the habit of using the camera via the phone, as i went all the way home yesterday to get my camera to take a photo for the online auto trader, and we all know what shite photos they are lol, so phone would have been ok anyway less waffling 7610 nice camera good photos, looks the biz d500 cool up to date, nice photos and mp3 and long video Motorola V3 brilliant all round especially the size 6630 lol aint got a clue :nelson:
  10. i assume from your first post Mike it's a new h/d?? otherwise if its been in a pc, i remember something about it needing a low level format, can't remember why lol, be interested how you get on as i was thinking of upgrading mine again to the same size, not sure i need it, but just because i can lol, no off on another cruise in october, so will full it up with 2 1/2 weeks of rubbish lol
  11. did you get a maxtor m8? deffo the best for the sky+
  12. ive got a 120 gig in mine m8, and works like a dream only difference is the remaining time doesnt show any more but still shows the % left, ive never come close to filling it so well worth the upgrade:)
  13. correct, i recently got a quote for the missus, for the wife for a tt and a n/a via houghtons as a 2nd car and both came out at £218
  14. none of the above will cover you against everything m8 you need to spend serious money to do that, but got to be worth it in the end you also havn't listed one of the best, micro road pilot with laser detector, as much as i like my road angel, i tend to rely more on the road pilot for the info it gives out, ie tells you the speed limit on the road your on, and the speed your travelling, gives a couple of supbtle beeps if your under the limit, and screams like a banshee if your over and approaching a camera. I also have a laser jammer fitted, if it detects my car being zapped it blocks the signal, screams like a good 'un and then switches itself off, so they can then get a reading, yes it's illegal, but i'd rather get done for using and and probably lose it, than instant ban, as i said depends how much you want to spend, or if its just for general "safety" if so i HIGHLY recommend the road pilot, its size alone means it fits in that little pocket in your jeans, yet plenty clear enough in the car;) http://www.roadpilot.com/roadpilot.asp
  15. i think thats the point Gio was trying to make as well m8 that people are not paying attention enough 1 -if your having to slam on when you see something 2-if the person behind has to slam on to react to your braking of course not all situations can be avoided, as i said i invested in a couple of gadgets that can start warning you up to 1000 metres away, especially handy in areas i dont know, but the most dangerous thing is if i feel immune and think im fireproof
  16. sorry m8 ive not seen a camera overtake anyone yet or speed guess i best watch out for them;)
  17. have to agree with scoops/big roy and gio you pay your money and take your chance, i know there is an increase in cameras so personally i do all i can to combat them, i currently have a road angel, road pilot and a laser jammer, but i still don't consider myself immune, but not trying to tempt fate, i have always had high performance motors and touch wood in many years have never had a speeding ticket, but if i get one it's part of the game and i have to live with it if i felt strongly enough i'd protest i don't so i won't, got much more important things in my life than joining a tree huggers convention, as Gio says the speed limit has been the same since year dot we all know about it, we also have to live with the fact that councils have now found a way to enforce it and make cash, so i buy items to try and make sure they don't get any of my cash, at the end of the day if a road has a speed limit of 30-40 whatever and they put a big yellow thing up that fines people who go faster, how ever much we don't like it, if you get caught your nicked, that's life.......... and let's not pretend this is a labour thing, two of the biggest protests ever were over closure of the mines and poll tax under the tories, result? no mines left in this country and we now have council tax, and if i remember people actually died in those protests, so i will do my little bit to evade things i believe in and enjoy mine and my familys lives
  18. a good box shouldnt use any oil m8, but as above the best way to check is when engine is warm/hot, THEN run it throught the gears 4-5 times, and this should give you the correct warm level, the cold level is really only when you replace the fluid or topping up, and again avoid overfilling as it will give wrong gear changes or slipping, it shouldnt show overfull when cold or hot
  19. i would get the oil dropped m8 and start again overfilling can cause as much damage as not enough:(
  20. you'll get there m8:) worth the wait, heres another photo as the above makes it look about 13 different colours
  21. finally got round to wiring the buggers, makes the back of the car i think
  22. eeee when i woz a lad air con was a windy thing on the door up for heat, down for cool :p when i used to swop a triumph stag engine as much as switching the kettle on, when you were lucky if the cars didnt rust before the running in period was over, when mods was a gang of scooter boys off to the seaside on bank holidays, uprated suspension was summat me nan and grandad used to keep their teeth in with, when the only people who drove flash cars were bank robbers (strange the coppers didn't notice  ) and the only toyota was a tonka
  23. not sure if your getting mixed up with suppressors etc the grounding kit is just a tiny bit related to audio if you already know ignore me lol http://www.groundingkits.co.uk/
