  1. put the front up on ramps :), i know exactly what you mean tho it does hurt leaning over the bay!
  2. thanks ok then. tbh i find my shorty to be very stable cornering and is very predictable when the back end does break free.
  3. swb 's models are mainly t-topped too! mine is a swb t-top
  4. people keep saying about the boot space on the swb. its huge!! twice as deep as the fuel tank is in the middle compaired to under the boot in the lwb. last week i had in the boot very large 6 man tent double readybed which was 2/3 the size of the 6 man tent bag two bags (one large sports bag and a medium size suitcase) full camping equiptment including 2 ground sheets lights camping stove and all cooking utensils. additional blankets plus i fitted a bike rack on the back with 2 adult mountain bikes. did over 500 miles with it all without a problem so yes the swb is also as practical as the family version! i personally dont like the swb without the spoiler as i think it makes it look too short but the 89 spec spoiler finishes it off perfect imo. giving it that little extra "length" to the rear of the boot to compliment it perfectly.
  5. Happy birthday:happybday::happybday:
  6. congrats on your purchase :) happy Zedding
  7. idle should increase when electrical items are turned on its to compensate for the additional drain on the system, stock oil pressure notoriously unreliable! from 1/4 on idle to upto 3/4 under load. here is the buyers guide http://www.300zx.co.uk/tech/BuyingZ.htm
  8. just a little grumpy since changing out the injectors, disturbing an old loom doesnt help and she is ildling a little rough, but she has been driven hard fully loaded for the last 500 miles ! really tempted to change the loom for my new spangly one but dont wanna take out the engine and by the sounds of it ,its a pig in situ!

  15. on this subject jeff have you found many that its the valve rather then the matrix is at fault? obviously this one its the matrix but i replaced my one about 6 months ago then a couple of weeks ago i had to go back in there as i had found the valve was faulty and leaking around the end cap....

  24. i agree the term engineer became an academic term just after ww2 , before then it was given to a time served apprentice or skilled by experience employee, i suppose the rich wanted the title all to themselves as the "common" man back then could not afford to go to university as it was generally only the place for the wealthy LOL i do all of the above "A Engineer designs it. A Technician builds it. A Mechanic maintains it." :)
