i had mine done for free, its supposed to be more stable meaning temperature changes dont affect them so you wouldnt have to check between winter and summer. i didnt pay for it so wasnt fussed either way

Surely with such a big overbore shouldnt you consider x raying the block and cryotreating to ensure longevity? The bore wall thickness will vary throughout the water jacket.

280/1.565 = 178.91 bhp/ton he did say about 190 bhp/ton your calculation makes the z @2 ton! unless your talking wheel hp rather then flywheel hp

Doubt it, not as a 1 off anyway ;-) i have changed jobs now bud and not in general engineering anymore , im in a cnc lathe shop which is the same shit different day and company product rather then 1 off bespoke, projects. Miss having a fully fledged workshop fir my home jobs but couldnt pass up on the payrise from moving. Swings and roundabouts i suppose
