  1. Alright jonce, welcome back, andover not to far from us lot. Have to get a meet going or go to the hants show :-)
  2. I would like this back too, gives me an excuse to get out with the camera and get some pozy shots of the z :-)
  3. Im so glad the first thing i hve done to my new z was to change the loom :-)
  4. Thanks for the reply, i did check that when i turned the engine off last the boost controller gradually went up to 0 , none of my local z pals have a boost controller unfortunately, i have finished my boost leak tedter now so am gonna check it over the next couple of days, failing any positive conclusion i want to take her to jeff if he can squeeze her in one weekend soonish
  5. can i confirm how the actuators work the actuators contain a spring at a set psi rating (z32 i have read in a lot of forums was 6psi) the actuators will open once 6 psi of boost is achieved unless there is something to stop the actuators seeing 6psi eg a boost controller the boost controller is essentially a bleed valve which vents the excess registered boost to atmosphere so that the actuators are "tricked" into staying closed to build more boost. this means the actuator only ever receives a maximum of 6 psi and the rest is vented off. this means the system is allowed to build more boost as the actuators is tricked into thinking there is less boost in the system then there actually is so in a 9psi system 3psi is bleed away from the acutator line 14 psi 8 psi is bleed away from the actuator line am i on the right lines???
  6. the stock boost solenoids have been removed from my car.
  7. i thought stock actuator spring pressure was 6psi? even so if the actuators are original they might be a bit weakened over the years and only holding 6 psi. what do you reckon jaffa?
  8. right i have been playing about with this a bit today, myself ans z32bolt thought we should try sticking a stock restrictor jet into the output line to the actuators. took it out for a run boost controller set at 15 ratio boost 5 gain and got 6 psi 30 ratio boost 5 gain and got 6.6 psi 40 ratio boost 5 gain and got 7.6 psi 50 ratio boost 5 gain and got 9.3 psi 55 ratio boost 5 gain and got 10.2 psi the readout is via the boost controller which when i checked it with a mechanical gauge before was right, my question is : is it uncommon to have to put a restrictor inline with the actuators and for the boost controller to be set so high on the boost?
  9. Well i have it back but. Well just leave it at but. Im gonna get the show season over and save me thinks
  10. I will do mate, hope the weather is kind to me tomorrow

  14. getting up early and travelling by train to pick up the beasty. cant wait as i have loads to do to it before the show season, and need to find out why she still dont boost right (suspect boost controller solenoid ) but will be good to finally get her back, im sick of driving the clio about now, as it leaks worse then a t -top z lol
  15. maybe , not too far from us
