I'm Trimming my car please help
yeh thats cos u need th tweed to get a rough template out on the vinyl and also if you put the vinly on top of the tweed on th panels the layer of fabric will be too thick and they wont sit flush together, especially th centre console parts

I'm Trimming my car please help
with the evostick impact th vinyl sticks pretty solidly to the tweed, better than the bear plastic/fibreglass (whatever the panels are made of). however its a waste of time sticking it on th tweed on the rear quarters as i found out because the stretched areas of th vinyl pull th tweed off the panel , so u get left with bubbles that u can do absolutely nuthin about. take the tweed off, grab a wallpaper scraper and get all th foam off, very quick and light sanding with sandpaper to smoothen it and clean with a damp cloth. basically get th tweed of everythin except for th doors, its not that difficult to do th job over the tweed on th doors

problem with waxing
can you get a clear coloured wax? i use zymol and even tho th stuff works really good (and smells really nice) its a sky blue colour and when it dries it goes white. i always end up with wax inside and around joints like the door handles and mirrors, iwas hoping itd all wash out in th rain but its still ther and buggin me. but i still cant be botherd to go n scrape it all out with a pin, jus too lazy

I'm Trimming my car please help
hi mate iv just spent the past 2 weeks on and off doing mine, finished everythin except for th door cards. i went thru about 5 different types of glues and th best one by far is evostick impact comes in a red tin form b&q and just brushes on like paint, u put it on both surfaces and let it dry for about 30mins befor putting them together. get lotsa tubes of superglue as well to glue the edges to th back of each panel, it gives u exactly what u need: an instant strong adhesion. for corners and curves u need to stretch the vinyl out, just heat it up with a hairdryer and ul be amazed at how much difference it makes. the rear quarters are a bitch and i still get a bubble on the left side when i park th car on my side of th street cos th sun shines directly onto it, just make a pin hole and press down if that happens. cant think of anythin els right no but if i do il add it good luck yaseen

Removing interior panels
u think 8 hoours is bad??? i spent practically all last week and half th week befor doing it, apart from a few hours in th evening when i was at work thts mainly my fault tho for trying to get everything absolutly perfect
-
Removing interior panels
it does take alot longer than you expect it to but that evostik impact is th biz, just make sure u let it dry before putting them together, bout half n hour is perfect iv done everything apart from th doors, think il do those sometime this week have u done ur rear quarters? they were a f-ing PITA but got ther in th end does anyone know if you can get like a protection cream or something cos the vinyl gets damaged and scratched pretty easily and can especially be seen on dark colours like my maroon

300ZX and DEBT?!?!?
im 20, i would love to keep this car forever but realistically it doubt that il will be able to, i bought it cos i just love it and wanted to enjoy driving one for a year or two while im still (relatively) young i havnt had to fork out a fortune on repairs yet but if it came to that i think id rather get rid of th car, the petrol costs hurt th pocket most but i do try n use th run around for half the week but sometimes its just toooo tempting

300ZX and DEBT?!?!?
am at uni and earn about 6k working part time already owe my dad 3k towards th car

Removing interior panels
you need to get the center unit (stereo surround) off first, there are two screws hidden behind clips in top corners by the vents and two hidden behind the strip in the middle, then it just clips out pull out the ashtray, pull up th lining to the centre console and undo all th screws to get that whole section off, mines an auto so got gear surround that comes off as well but cant remember which is first then the just unscrew the triangle side panels (i had to do all that before i could get the glove box off, probly just dint think bout it, oh well it all had to come out soner or later) the little panels on the side of the centre console are screwed in from the underside so you have to take the whole thing out to get to them, hope it all makes sense p.s. the rear quarters are a nightmare! and 2 meters defo aint enough iv tried about 5 differnt glues and th best is EVOSTICK IMPACT solvent free, comes in a small red tin from B&Q. also get pleeeeeenty of superglue for sticking the edges down at the back (been thru 6 tubes already) absolutly essential tho

What is this thing?
