  1. S02's are still available and were the tyre that the 300zx was built on. They are standard Porsche fitment so many trye fitters are frightened to fit tyres in their sale books listed as maunfacturer specific. I have a good discount from Demon Tweeks so I get my Bridgestones at £115.00 for fronts 235/35/18 and £130.00 265/30/18 rears.
  2. You need to get about 20 miles on them to get them to settle. Then if they aren't right have a word with Mike. What make of spring are they. I have the Blitz (Heibach really) on one of my cars and they took a week to settle properly, but the from still dropped about 1/2 inch more than rear.
  3. j1mmytt you only need to remove all the boot plastic pannels if it is a LWB car. (OH yes start with the rear seat and then the rears door cards then go to the lights centre pannel) However if it is a SWB you only need to remove the 2 square covers behind the seats just under the rear quarter lights.
  4. Me and my buddy John would be up for this. We have both done Single seat racing, + John was a junior speedway champion I used to do production bike racing (400 and 350cc) and both done Prokarts and K Karts. Also had plenty of practice in a 2003 F1 kart. Both very competertive so wouldn't be there just to make up the numbers. What type of Karts are they etc???
  5. The advantage over pure water is the fact that Glycol raises the boiling temp to about 160 c and doesn't vaporize until about 140 c. Where water boils at 100 c and begins to vaporize at about 90 c. The turbos on performance cars run at incredible temps, glowing bright red like a burning coal at full chat and they heat the entire engine up Via convection and by discharging extreme temps into the oil and in the 300's case into the turbo water jackets. If you don't have enough coolant in the water it will vaporize as it passes through red hot turbo's after a good thrash. This then presurises the system which causes several problems. One is it will find any week point in the system including Rad, Heater matrix, headgaskets and any old hosing. Which inturn caused more heat related damage, from hot spots etc. So yes water is a better coolant than glycol when opperating within the temp scales that prevent water from vaporizing as in a modest normally asperated family car, but not for high performance motors.
  6. What for they look much better in braille.
  7. In my 1994 owners manual for my Blue TT it states that the mixture should be 70% glycol to 30% water. i think this is more to do with summer cooling than with winter anti freezing as that amount of Glycol raises the boiling temp to 160c and stops it vapourising in the turbo gallaries. Loads of people do just use 50/50 mix but if you drive hard I'd go for 70/30 mix.
  8. It'll be louder than the normal set up, but so long as your car is a TT it should be bearable as the turbos baffle a lot of the sound. If your car is a NA then it will be too loud and need extra baffles between the cats and the back box. I know from experience with one of my NA's. It sounded awesome round town or for a short sqirt through the twisty's but 10 min's on the motorway resulted in severe head haches
  9. Where can I get that Ducks Arse spoiler from. I have fallen for it in a big way. It just looks so right on the SWB's
  10. As Lymon has stated the factory gauges are old and worn, but they were never that accurate any way. So it maybe a good idea to invest in a good defi gauge or even a tim electric gauge. I would say though that it sounds like a goosed thermostate. Which means you'll be thowing fuel down the barrels for fun. Which is both costly and causes bore washing and rapid ring ware. Start the car up and put your hand on the bottom hose (mind your fingers on the fan). If it starts to get luke warm after a minute or two your thermostate is knackered as it should stay shut until the car reaches 84 C and the thermostate opens allow hot water out to the rad. So in theory it should stay cold for about 5 to 10 minutes and then get hot very quickly not luke warm and slowly heating up.
  11. Nice one fella. Glad to see it's not going to be a sad ending. Just out of curiosity what tyres have you got on your car. I cannot advercate Bridgestone SO2's enough to keep you on the black stuff durring these cold wet and frosty months. I also rate Piolets and Eagles as close seconds. Just a thought buddy. These tyres in the wet cold conditions are way beyond Toyo Poxy's etc, and surely shes worth it. You know how much a pritty woman likes good quality shoes. You know she'll love you for it.
  12. Ah yes, but a good UK car is always worth more than a good Jspec and many of the early Jspec imports are falling victim of the old tin worm. Neither if my Jspec cars are as good a condition as my UK car.
  13. They really held their prices well until all the cheap imports started flooding the market in about 2001. Prior to that you could have paid anything up to £16K for a tidy Zed regaurdless of age. 2000/2001 they dropped in price by about £5k which was the worst year. There on in they lose about £1K a year.
  14. Buy over here anf then you can drive it over there for 12 months before you have to register it in Italy. Unless you keep a UK residencey and can show that you and the car are out off Italy for 3 months of every year.
  15. Here here the words of a truely discerning gent. Musically they have no talent but I'd like to make them all sing

  21. None of you know that I'm an Artist an a poet as well it would seem. I entered a compertition on the web early in the year. Just out of boredem. I've always writen poems and lyrics from when i used to play in bands. So i thought why not give it a go, Anyway I'm going to Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA. In April 2008 to recieve an award or something. :hyper: Here's my poem if anyone is interested The Dance By Mark Renner Beware, Take heed This contrivance, this entity is starting to Breath Know what risk this line invoke When alluring sparks do dance and smoke As passions charge the closing space To overcome ungainly grace Seeking souls take natures heed The first of lustful breaths to feed Then with grinning joy a fool to gladly wear The flesh weakens and logic despair While reverent hands greet yearning bodies touch To revel there on in and gorge loves tasteful odours much Rhythm sweep in twisted writhing fires fly Till twitching sinews and freckled nerves calmly lie All completeness as aching bodies pleasure run Now feel the dance, has life begun A dream then it is no more for I have danced this dance before And mourned and born it's painful passing Therein lies its danger, beauty it's pleasure It's push and pull, pain and hurt in equal measure.
