what is it worth.
Hi Guvnor I'm affraid I've got to agree with Mr chunkster (Sorry Rich) and having shopped around and now having three running engines although the one in my car is very poorly. I say a good reputable dealer would want £1200/£1500 for an engine without Turbos and six month warrenty. As a punter if you have good evidence as to the milage and history you could get up to £1000 without Turbos, plenum. fuel rail etc. If you get the right punter, but if you want a quick sale then £800/£700 and a £1000 with all ancileries.

Front Bumper Modifications
I've had an Apexi unduction for the entire time I've owned my Z. thats 6years + now. i've had three different bumpers and romoved all this guff and never any bother at all until the rubber seal on the top edge of the headlight pannel got knackerd. This is the rubber that the bonnet seals against when closed. If it stood in the rain the water would get onto the cone and at the MAF causing it to cut out a 3500rpm untill it dried. New rubber install and no problem and a small plastic shield over the top to diver any rain that finds its way in and hey presto. Once your running the minimum amount of moisture the filter lets through actually helps peformance so hack it off.

Plugs,Plugs, Plugs!!!!!
I'd go for HKS S40i irridium. its a little cooler than standard as your running extra boost and more fuel. + They will hand the punishment and deliver a good spark for 60K and beyound.

Opinions Please........
Dave thanks for posting this. That finish is the mutts though I really don't think you'll be content with the standard wheel even if they look bling, because they are just too small. 18" is the minimum size to look right. The £300 your thinking of spending would be more than half the price of a new set of 18" without tyres. Why not wait till ya rubber needs replacing and get some 18"s with rubber. It'll only end up costing you £300 more than the tyres alone so in effect the same as your going to pay for refurbing. You know it makes sense. Hi Octane H147 as on pic of arse end of my car. Now for sale at Tweeks for £900 with Yokohoma tyres. + H142 which is similar to my new wheels but only 9J on rear and 8J front are the same price.

Just joined Just about to buy 300zx
Buy one from one of the members here. The cars for sale here have been cared for by enthusiasts who have spent money to keep the cars in tip top condition. The best way to understand this is to go to a local 300zx.co.uk meet and look at the quality of club members cars. Then go to the importer and look at the crap cars he's trying to sell you. They are project cars in comparison to most of the cars owned by members here. Unfortunately for the members selling car at the moment the prices are dictated by the majority of rubbish 300's that are out there. You'll hear a lot abot Jap cars are in better nick than UK cars, but personally I think thats a load of rubbish. There was only 1500 UK cars ever sold between 1989 to 1994, most of which have ended up totaled and broken. There are now over 7000ish Zeds in the UK and 2 out of every 3 I see are total pants. So believe me Jap can be crap and Uk can be OK you just have to keep looking and get the best you can.

Hey newbie here
Really you get what you pay for. I saw a black 91 TT UK manual go for £10K just before Christmas. It was unmolested, Gen 30k mileage, original and in good condition. My 94 UK has got dents underneath from being grounded and two small rusty bits at the bottom of the sill inside the wheel arch, but will be replaced this spring. I wouldn't have expected to get £10K for her though and I've spent near £30K on her.

Spot the difference
The gauze on the original Apexi filters is much finer than on the imitation. Sinoda who make Filters for Apexi and K&N also make there own. They are very good and often passed off as Apexi by stenselling the Apexi logo on them. Apart from it saying Sinoda they look the same and you can only tell the difference when side by side, as the Apexi gauze is much finer. Sinoda filters cost about £35 fot the Z, but an Apexi costs about £80 so you understand why they bother.

Dogging????
Your not telling me as an ex squaudy that you aint had your bayonet up to the hilt in strange foreign parts and no questions asked. So long as you fish in ya welly's and don't get ya face in the bacon rashers whats ya problem  I think its the old male problem (I know cos I'm the same) where you like to think you've charmed a perfectly respectable young lady out of her undies and onto the joy stick.

Are they the Rosso's ZR rating cos I got them in my Volvo and they need a good bit of warming up to work well. Had them on Z once and I assure you if you think these are good trye the Bridgies nest time and youll not want to go back to the Pirellis ever again. You have to get them as Porsche fitment only these days.

The slut bit me
What do you call good rubber cause over 6 years of ownership I tryed most and in the wet nothing comes close to Bridgestone SO2's not even vaguely. IMO TOYO'S are absolute cr*p even though they are better than some, but I here people rating them hear. Got em on my truck and they don't like cold weather at all.

The slut bit me
What rubber you got on the rear and how worn? I bet you still got HICAS as well. With the HCAS eliminated these cars are far more predictable/ controlerble once they break away. Having said that I went and spun 3 x 360 down the A41 second day of ownership and even though I concider my driver skills above average. Having raced bikes, Karts and even got my Palmer Audi licence, it was so violet and quick it took me by suprise and it was luck not skill that saved me. I've never let her get out from under my control since. You know your alive now anyway.

My wifes TRD was imported New in October 2002 and after shipping and SVA was registered in April 2003 as new yet According to this it was manufactured 31st Dec 2003.

Fao People Who Know Best
Take battery off and leave it covered up. Unless you have someone you can trust to turn her over and give her a little run every fortnight. I'd go for the first option then temptation don't lead to a broken car, friendship etc.

help the newbie!
I pay £800 unlimited milage with fixed replacement valuation of £18k and all mods declared on my UK car.

Z Club
I used to be a member of the Zclub before I ever came on here. Not been a member for about 2/3 years, but who knows what the future holds. Noble owners don't seem too friendly.
