  3. I had one of them little vaporetti hand held steamers - only holds .5 litre of water and you can direct the nozzle to about an inch of steam at a time, so they're pretty accurate. Sold it tho coz it was crap - but never tried it on the engine - wish I had kept it. Ryan, I didnt mean garden hose, you can get some little pump up water holders (I think for doing weeds etc) that pressurises and gives a small spray of water.

  6. what about that GUNK stuff. Does that need washing off - am I alright to use a little water from one of them garden spray gun things to degrease engine with that, as long as I steer clear of most electrical items.
  7. Cheers Andy, as is I've temporarily binned them for the original recircs!! sorted out the stalling prob now though which is good just gotta check for boost leaks now coz Im still not running above 5psi
  8. Mr Dixon has said he will help out with that. Ist just another long journey, down. I seem to spend more miles in my car taking it for fixes than anything else. Before I trek down, any ideas on which pipes I need to start looking at. Is it likely to be one of the 3mm vacuum pipes or one of the large 4 pipes at the front near the rad? Ta

  10. Right, thanks to all those guiding me towards the leaky DV probs. Stalling problem has now gone away (on a short test drive) however . . . . . Still got no boost Cant get above 5 psi now - same as before i replaced the DVs for the original recircs. Even putting boost controller on 1 bar on will not raise past 5psi ideas??

  12. just taking my DVs off and the pipe that was blocked (I believe goes to the air intake has emptied out about a cup of water???? Hows that get in there? Cheers

  14. Im getting a valet done on the car and they said they can steam wash the engine. Is this advisable - I know the AFM would need to make sure it didnt get wet but is there owt else or is it really not a good thing. Car has been in bodyshop and engine is absolutely covered indust and crap. Ta
  15. Do I tell if a DV is leaking air out the trumpet by leaving engine running on tickover and putting my hand over trumpet - Would I feel an air leak? Thanks

  17. I removed the recircs that are located under the air box/intake. Remove the headlamp panel, remove the Filter/box and AFM. From what I remember you have to remove the Electric fan too, loosen up coolers then you can access them complete sod

  20. Im after a left 02 sensor to buy as Im getting the error code. If anyone even has one I can borrow to test I will gladly pay postage. Are they easy to fit?
  21. Mine were 2nd hand - no packing washers. I think I may bang my original recircs back on to prove fault.

  23. Hmm, John Dixon told me this too, Its not I was ignoring him its just I spent an entire day cutting my fingers apart trying to fit them and the thought of doing it all over again pains me. They are the Turbo XS Dump valves in place of std recircs. I can make them into recircs I think as the trumpet pipe look same diameter as a recirc pipe. I should be able to do this ok. Would this cure the "Leaky dv"? Would doing that increase vacuum.? Is has seemed to be getting progressively worse. I just checked vaccum again and HKS is actually reporting -430. see. the other thing is my boosy guage is now reporting 10psi and seems slower than when I had my 1mm boost jets in (running at 14.5psi) but my HKS is reporting 1BAR (which I believe 14.5psi)!!! ??? Thanks
  24. 2 things. A. What sort of running probs would a faulty 02 sensor give you - would it cause car to run slower? B. I have an aftermarket guage and a HKS EVC Boost controller. On Idle the guage reads -21 INhg but the boost controller reads -478 mmHg Just wondering whether boost controller may need recalibrating or would a calibration not change the vacuum strength? Basically, Im just looking for other ideas for a problem whereas when revved and let go revs drop to 200 and sometimes stalls - it normally does this when coming down from high speed to a stop and the car just stalls. Could a battery problem cause this as I notice a fair drop in revs when switching off heater etc at tickover. If Not - I'll be off to see someone on this group who can wave a magic wand and make all my problems go away.
