slow to warm up
well it took about 7 miles to reach half temp. If you dial in 19-21 Deg on the A/C heater you get a mildly warm airflow coming through the centre console - and it is mild. Any higher temp you put in switches it to blowing cold on the screen.

slow to warm up

slow to warm up
cheers bud, could that cause the heat in the cabin to not be as warm even when engine temp is reading half way or does that sound like a poss blocked core in the matrix?

slow to warm up
On the wifes TT zed, it takes ages to warm up. When eventually warm heater doesnt really blow hot. After stopping I can put my hands on the radiator and its warm but not hot. Does this sound like stat is stuck open?

A thought on OIL
sound. I think one of the ex-traders used that too.
-
A thought on OIL
so are we agreed again on Magnatec 10/40 and oil & filter changes every 3K Miles
-
A thought on OIL
ok Si, nice one so for TT's its best to go for fully synthetic then. What are we recommending then - 10/40 Fully Synthetic.
-
A thought on OIL
How is fully synth better for turbos matey?
-
A thought on OIL
I used fully synthetic in my UK TT @ 120K Miles. New shortie TT is at 70K @ Im about to stick semi-syn magnatec 10/40 in it. Never had a problem with using that in my old zed and its what nissan recommend.

Decatt survey
You say quality of oils is a factor. Without getting into the whole "which oil is best" I have always used top quality oils but think the fully synthetic may have contributed to my problems. It would be interesting to see what Zed repair specialist use when they do oil changes as I belive Nissan do a regular oil change with semi-synthetic.

uk speedo

Unorthodox Underdrive Pulley!!
I had a small alloy pulley on my lwb. I still have it - I never noticed any probs with car so would it be worth fitting it to my shortie or would you recommend binning it and buying an unorhodox so I know its a good un. Thing is it could be an unorthodox and I dont wanna chuck away £150. Is there any way of telling?

Decatt survey
decatted and smoked. TBH it smoked about 6 months after from what I recall but I was running 14.5psi with lots of hard driving and the engine was on original tubs at 120K miles. + I never let tubs cool down properly :x: + I ran it on fully synthetic 0/50 oil (I believe this is very thin) + I had no silencers in car whatsover - straight through. From what I recall when I had the middle boxes removed it started shortly after that. again it oculd all be coincidence - I wanna decatt my new shortie but am worried about killing seals.

Number Plate slogans
lol, that aint a bad idea :)
-
Number Plate slogans
Gonna get me some new plates made up 3/4 for the front. On a plate that size would you recommend a thin border round it or would that make the text smaller. Secondly - slogans - good or bad idea. on my last one I just had my name imprinted on the bottom at the middle. Dont know if this makes me sound a c*ck though :wack: :smash: :xxx: If a good idea - anyone got any ideas I know it went round years ago this - like "3 Litre Scooby Eater" etc
