Clocking your car. . . .
but legally Changed over clocks from KMH to UK Speedo. Problem is my UK speedo reads 120K miles. Can I legally set it to what My Jap was set at but convert it to Miles. I can take photos etc. Secondly - how do you do so - dont wanna make a bodge of it and have numbers out of alignment. Or . Do I just keep a record of what it was when swapped over and mentally knock 70K miles of it each time.

ignition barrell - removal

Ive unplugged everything and removed all cowling - there is a small screw at rear but its hard to get to. Anyone help? 0-60mph timings
Running boost jets measured on a G-tech. Gonna try swapping ECU over for a more aggresive chip (JD).

0-60mph timings
Someone stated mods like 14psi ecu, intake and exhaust mods should see under 5 secs. . . I got all that - and Im running on optimax - boost gauge is reading 1 bar. I appreciate the body filler etc gonna be a tad heavier but its a shortie so its lighter anyway. I may have to try some 17" wheels on and see what goes there. Personally I wouldnt have thought there would be much difference. Just feels like somethings fundamentally wrong. ECU reads a 55. Booting it in my red Zed pushes you back in the seat - shortie doesnt :(

0-60mph timings
Ran some 0-60 in the SWB today Best I could get is 5.6secs. Averaged 5.7 on about 6 runs. Feels so slow though - my old red un was lots faster for sure (got a 5.1) - same mods 'part from ECU. May swap it over and see if I get an increase - was hoping to see low 5's. What are you guys running?

As morning breaks in the Smith household . . .
There appears yet another Zed :hyper: Meet Mrs Smiths new Black J-Spec. Mint condition (apart from it needs a wash from long trip home late last night). Even the rear spoiler hasnt got a mark on it!!! Loving the front bumper (poss even more than the 99 spec) - Ive asked - she wont swap it with mine :( Leather interior - excellent condition - again Ive tried plying my old tweed seats and swapping but shes not having a bar of it. Neighbours must be loving us :o Downside - noise fuel pump - easily sorted :) and no, Im not showing off :)

underdrive pulley

Womens insurance recommendations?
Hi all - my wife has had a quote for £1000 for a J-Spec 1989 (f) TT. 0 years NCB (Shes always been a named driver). Houghtons will do it for about £400 if we have a 2nd runaround car - we were thinking of doing this but to pay our for another car sort of defies saving the £600.) Flux came in at £1100. Insurance4U quoted us at £1K Fully comp. Anyone know any other ones for women in Zeds :)

underdrive pulley
How easy is it to fit one of them alloy lightweight pulleys? Anyone know whats involved or a simple howto sheet :) I got one on my old zed that I wanna put on my new 'un. Id prefer to do it myself but if its gonna take too long or be too hard Ill pay someone to do it. Cheers *EDIT* 1.Done a search and found some bits out - still cant find a fitting guide. 2.Would one of my UK TT bolt straight on to a J-Spec TT with same belts? 3.Is there any way of identifying if my uk one is an unorthodox one?

Thanks to John Dixon...
Si, If I can borrow a compression tester from someone I can test my block for you. Its running at the moment, but like you know - turbo seals on their way out. Done 130K mind you. Strong engine tho - sure its faster than my new SWB with same mods. Removing starter off it today but can prob fit an old one to it to crank it over unless theres a manual way of doing it matey. Just a distance thing.

Each to their own I think. See I prefer the rims on PK1s car already - not keen at all on the new ones your trying to get. Still mate - if it makes ya happy go all out for em. I still love the look of my old modena's whereas I been told by lots they're look shite.

insurance query
Hi, if you have a 2 car classic policy (zed would be 2nd car). Can you sell the 1st car to a family member but carry on running your insurance on it as you would be car sharing with the other family member. They would need to get insured - Im aware of that but can 2 people insure the same car and would it affect a classic policy?
