  1. yep - pmsl - Its made front page of some of the newspapers. Ive decided to call my car rainbow coloured for fear of upsetting it. As for blackberries, fook it - lets call em rainbowberries :) For fooks sake
  2. Craig & Si - Fancy meeting at Mcdonalds in retail park at J34. just past the Porsche garage on the left if your coming from the motorway. We could meet there at 11:30ish summit like that then nip down the M1 and up the M18 and meet the others. Any other ideas on how were gonna meet?
  3. Reet then - I got a mate coming in my car whos got a 200sx and is buying a zed this year. Secondly, A friend from work has a zed, hes not on tinternet, but he wants to meet us for the convoy up there :) Shame I cant get the wife to drive hers up - surely theres gonna be a lot of zeds now :)
  4. nice one - I may thin it down with a little bit of thinners then. you watch me thin it down too much :) Cheers for all the advice people, it really is appreciated.
  5. I have a spray one - little worried spray will go everywhere :) Does the solvent brush on have a high temp rating - do you have to ask for the solvent version? (I take it the can is stamped up as SOLVENT :) ) so do you put on glue, leave a few mins, then heat it up then lay it on or put glue on, leave a few mins, lay it on - then heat it and stretch to fit? told ya - 1001 questions but this is a first for me and cant afford to screw it up All help has been appreciated ;)
  6. cheers bud, someone mentioned about thinning it down. do you brush onto the vinyl or the hard plastic? Where does the hairdryer come in?
  7. Sorry if Im being thick here :) I tried yesterday to get some heat resistant paint on glue for my retrim. B&Q advised me to just use std contact adhesive. Has anyone got a brand name thats tried and tested that I can go and buy on the way home. Where did you guys get yours from too. what temp rating should it be too? I know its a million and one questions but I just wanna pick some up tonight and make a start - and I only wanna do it once - dont want summer to come round then have to retrim where it bubbles up. Cheers.
  8. Im hoping not that - could that be it!!? :(
  9. My wifes J-Spec TT is very slow to start. Can take about 10 seconds before it fires up. It turns over fast enough, i.e battery is giving plenty Any ideas?
  10. Cheers bud, Ill get some of that then Is a temp rating of 50 degs C ok?
  11. Just noticed on the adhesive spray its heat resistant to 50 Degs C. Is that good enough to use? Personally I cant see it getting that hot but when cars bake in the sun I dont know what the leatherette temp rises to?
  12. spot on mate - shame its a wired gps and not a bluetooth jobbie but youll be reet pleased with the result. He says you can bolt it to your bike if you want but as far as I know the wired GPS needs a 12V supply so you would need to carry your car battery with ya - lol
  13. very smart - how bout a full write-up or showing the mounting points on where you put the struts
  14. Yep - Im gonna take this glue back and get a high temp one (Where from??!!?). OR contact adhesive - (does that have to be high temp)? Cheers people.
  15. Cheers bud, I was more after a pic of the dash section tho - cant afford to do the seats :)
  16. Anyone goit any pics of their retrim in Ivory/cream. Ive just bought some "Chester Ivory" leatherette, to replace my tweed and am hoping Ive made the right choice. Was gonna go red or blue.
  17. Cheers bud, one last thing. I just got some heavy duty fabric spray glue - will that do. Is it a case of just spraying the fabric, laying it on and then putting a hairdryer on it to set it?
  18. yes, that'd be sound - I need to know that too - I just got some thick Vinyl and am about to start retrimming mine. Without thread stealing, do you remove all the tweed and glue the vinyl straight onto the hard plastic with the aid of a hairdryer for shaping?. I was gonna get a thin layer of foam underneath but dont think I need to.
  19. Klutz :smash: Dont worry Si, we've all done it at some point - NOT :xxx: lol
  20. cheers :) And no - I already have a mass emailing program ;) lol
  21. where were you in Rotherham mate, You shoulda popped in and said hello :)
  22. I removed the blanket from my bonnet on my old TT to help rid some of the heat quicker. Was gonna do it on my new one too, but its a modified bonnet, got a bulge etc on it. Can the heat damage the filler? Would it be safe to remove? Dont want to remove it all to find out when engine gets hot bonnet bulge cracks etc.
  23. bodyfiller - local motorfactors - about £5. done all mine ok.
  24. Craig & Si - I can drive across and meet ya. I used to live in Wincobank and I think I remember the road that Craig lives on. I can be there for about 11:00 ish Dont know how were gonna arrange to meet the others coming up tho.
