ahhh, cas is turned most of the way to one side. Does this mean I prob need cambelt changing as it may have jumped a tooth. power is up but still not what it should be.

Think I may have sorted my car. Had timing checked and it was 7deg. Loosened cas and moved it a little and garage rechecked it and told me that its now set to 16deg and thats the best I'll get. Leaving it at 16 - will cause me any probs? Power seems a lot more now :)

just thought Id type up some thoughts as Im sat here doing nothing. Last night, the water pipe from the lower rad to the block burst. About a mile from home (luckily), limped home. It must've looked funny as steam was coming out the vent in my bonnet and reminded me of a steam train, as I peered through the steam mist settling on the screen. Anyway, got home and replaced pipe (I had a spare one from my red 300 I stripped). Must quieten down my exhaust too, on the way to work this morning I successfully set off no less than 4 car alarms I trundled pass them. I loved the noise to start with but it becomes very monotonous on distances and you cant have a conversation in the car for the exhaust. Car still isnt running right, really really down on power, (Andy Duff was in car and called it gutless :( Im hoping its just a base timing issue, it goes but its like there are no turbos - they spool up to 15psi and car isnt slow but its nowhere near what it should go like. Checked obvious like boost leaks, ECU codes etc (Anyone recommend anything - Im gonna try and borrow a timing light to set base idle) any other ideas? I have the Datascan software and Duffer checked out with Conzult and couldnt find owt wrong there - he thinks its either base timing or when cambelt was fitted it jumped a tooth. Getting very disheartened with the car, just need to sort out few minor issues.

110ps model (98 - pre facelift). Anyone know if them ecu chips are worth it - 25% extra power and more mpg? Bit wary of anything ebay... :) Test drove it and its a lovely car - on test drive it returned 47.8 average mpg :D Gonna be the new daily drive - 100K on it but these things still sell when theres 240K on them.

even worse when you have an unorthodox underdrive pulley fitted. Alloy doesnt drive belts well with and squeals real bad :(

will the grease not leave a thin film on the contacts tho - reducing conductivity? Or as the connector slides on does it clear off the grease? *EDIT* Just found out that when connectors slide together the metal-metal contact displaces the grease and forms a barrier around stopping any oxidation/corrosion from happening.

Blond moment here. I am thinking of getting some dielectric silicone grease. This is up to 400 deg F - and totally non-conductive. Does this mean if I was to clean electrical spade connections and put this grease on spade and connector then connect them up, the grease would act as an insulator and stop good contact?

I have read you can disconnect the brake assist vacuum line, plug up the MAF inlet and attach vac pipe to where the brake assist vac goes to, pressureise up a garden sprayer and use it to find boost leaks. Anyone know if you can damage seals as Im not sure what pressure them garden sprayers can build up to? Saves lots of compressor noise :)

Would someone please be kind enough to open up my saved .DAT file and check it against theirs. (Its Zipped up) I installed TC exactly as TwinTurbo.net specified. I used Traction Control MKII Software to config up. I know wheel sizes will be different - what about wheel channel references? any other discrepencies anywhere? ANY help greatly received...... poxy thing keeps trying to kill me :(
