Exhaust cleanup
Your exhaust looks great, I wanna do the same thing, I have a greedy/trust exhaust and boxes are stainless but pipes are not. What paint did you use, will any high temp paint do.

What Horn you using? and a thought of venture....
I have worked on a couple of jags the v8 engines, and tensioners fail, chains stretch, guides etc. And there a nightmare when play up. Few Vauxhall engines are crap chains too. I prefer belts, they are great has long has serviced right. Hate little engines with chains, if things like head gaskets go so much work to strip down. Done head gaskets on a few bmw too the straight 6 engines, stupid chain lol, for that vanos, would be fine in a garage with all the holding tools but when u work mobile like I do have to make do with making marks etc. Zx belts is great to do, once radiator is out loads of room. Bottom pulley can be a bitch to get off. Marks on belt go to the marks on sprockets, ones on engine are for reference only. Get Nissan belt and u know marks are good to go. Ain't got a clue on horn, but for a big motor the zx has a weak horn lol. Sounds like a moped.

Steering dead zone or aquaplaning
Hi, Passenger side turbo I think is the harder one of the 2, Driver side remove master cylinder and joint from steering column to rack, then all the pipe work, And u end up with a fair bit of room Passenger side, I removed it with the whole manifold, one manifold nut is a f@#Ker and that's all that stops u unbolting it easy, so what I do is undo the 4bolts that bolt the turbo housing together and put a bar on it and knock part of turbo round. So can get to last nut on manifold. I actually left that nut off on my and have never had a blow or any problems and can change turbos easy. I'm at work I'll try when I get home take some pics and explain better if u like I'll start another thread if it helps anyone.

Steering dead zone or aquaplaning
Yeah kind of goes round it but it ain't that simple, No room down there lol. I change turbos on mine and a couple of friends zed with engine in the car and I'm saying there buggers lol. Goodluck ...

Steering dead zone or aquaplaning
See told ya rack is moving lol. Sounds like u solved it but there quite a bugger to change when engine is in the car. Goodluck. U most likely know but u can get uprated poly bushes quite cheap proberly cheaper then oem bushes.

wheels....
Been wanting to go last 2yrs, Clutch went one year, Something else the next. This year I'm using the zed whether it wants to or not it's going lol.
-
wheels....
There quite far away from the caliper lol, company I bought these from said about brembos said these nearly clear them so should have no worries with zed calipers. And they sell spacers and they will clear brembos. But I hate spacers, so yeah stock brakes it is. To be honest I had bigger turbos, 555injectors, etc. And it was a pain, start wanting more and more, just wanna build it has stock has I can and enjoy it. It's fast, it stops good enough, and hopefully it will look good. Bloody wants to anyhow, Bought new 99spec bumper z centre, type s sideskirts, wheels. But most money is going on the body this f@#Ker better never rust Still stonchipping underneath with dinitrol and so far used 9ltrs and still need more. Got Cavity wax. Then respray again This summer I want it on the road built properly so can go places like jae and enjoy it. Instead of allways trying to make it faster or taking it to pieces. Had the zed proberly around 7yrs and this year I nearly scrapped it lol. Misses allways moaning, got to the point was using it for work and didn't feel special anymore but when u just drive them once every now and then realise how good they are even standard. Drive my astra diesal van for 6months and tell me a zed needs to be faster or bigger brakes:clap:

Steering dead zone or aquaplaning
Have u tried turning the steering wheel while parked. Check it left and right being gentle while watching the wheels see if there's any play. Even better if u can jack it up and check for play, even maybe something like steering rack moving left and right then catching and getting your steering. Has it got hicas check rear wheels for play too. Sounds like somethings moving and then catching causing it to start to steer. Goodluck and hopefully it's something easy, but then it's a zed..

Slipping fan belt
I normally tighten it, if it squeals just give it a bit more obviously making sure it's not to tight it's gonna snap. I normally jack front up to and if it's squeals I have a 12mm ratchet spanner tighten it till it stops With the engine running but making sure I don't catch my hands anywhere. Never had a problem with pulleys and worked on a few zeds.

wheels....
Cheers mate, That's what I was hoping for, wish I didn't buy them yet it's making me wanna rush it back together and drive it lol.

Bit of a newb question but should I be worried about this?
Hi Couple times I've taken my exhaust systems off in one, then stood it up right against the wall the amount of water that came out would shock ya. When it's on my drive its parked down hill and some rain must go into my exhaust I have 2 single boxes so could get in easy. Along with condensation etc. Never really thought about it but even when I jetwash motor and spraying rear bumper etc, don't take no notice if it's spraying in my exhaust, :scared: Most likely needs a good run get all the moisture or water in my case out.
-
wheels....
Cheers mate; They will look good if I ever get chance to get it on the rd stupid work and even more stupid weather lol. And I need some coilovers too drop her a bit...or a lot.

Sorry for all the pics, I'm an idiot forum kept saying try again in so many seconds. So I did and the bugger sent them all. Them thin tyres look great but don't think I'd want to hit a fag butt with them. Yep trying to rush it all back together now, I need my zed back astra van is so boring...
