crikey thats cheap from a dealer! well at least im having the whole lot reconditioned now anyway - hopefully postpone more cracks for a few years.

hehe nothing wrong with Glasgow - just the last place id expect a Z part to come from! :) On the radiator front, unfortunately there was no crack in the bottom corner like i thought - instead the tank(?) at the top of the radiator had burst and the water was dripping down the inside and out the bottom. SO this guy is going to build me a new one from copper (better than the original plastic one apparently). Would this be an ok thing to do?

Right I took the radiator in for reconditioning including a new core yesterday - apparently the core had to come from Glasgow (bit of a contrast to Japan or the USA!) Anyway hopefully it'll be ready this afternoon. Let's see what happens...

...okaaay so you need a special adapter kit to be able to mount a BOV intended for the recircs to actually go on the pipes...? what happens to the recircs and the piping around it?

My mate has a Bailey on his Punto GT and it sounds sweet - they're good value as well. Andy, in laymans terms :rolleyes: IYO which is best - engine bay (on the pipes) or replacing the recircs? :confused: :D

I'm thinking about getting hold of one of these to correct BOV stall/idle problem and have a couple of questions for anyone who has a SAFC2 installed: Just by installing it and leaving it alone (ie not messing with it and blowing up the engine) will it fix the above problem? Will taking it in to be professionally tuned help increase bhp? Thanks guys.

Hi Jon, which make of BOVs are you going to install? I've got ApexI ones - which replace the recircs. TBH i dont know why one location (ie. in the bay) would be better than below in the front panel, or vice versa - hopefully a techie will let us know. I think the ones Ive got sound great - nice and loud, but that could be because they are almost outside the car (in the front bumper almost) as opposed to inside the bay.

I bought my Z about 15 months ago from this place in Derby - now called Jap City Motors. There were 3 white Zs lined up for sale (sounds like paradise I know :rofl: ;) ) I got the most expensive one (had to nick the side repeaters off another tho :rolleyes: ) Just out of interest did anyone on here get one of the other 2?

I think I got a bit of that as well (I only had 10 minutes to play with them before my radiator exploded! :rofl: well, cracked anyway). As new do you think the BOVs come on maximum tolerance and you use an alan key to wind them down a bit to dump earlier on ie. with less boost. They were DAMN loud when installed unaltered :bow: :bow:

Me too. After a crap night at work I'm driving home up to my turn-off, the sun's out, and it's either a) turn right and go home, or b) drive straight on and be in the countryside in 10 minutes. Decisions decisions... :D
