  1. Need some help, im selling a car on fleabay and I took a 2 min video of the car's exterior for potential buyers to see. Im trying to upload it to youtube but when about 2.5 megs uploads, my internet locks up and nothing happens. i cant access anything on the net. when i press disconnect and try to reconnect, it just times out and says the server is not responding. however when i reboot my pc and reconnect, everything's ok again until i try and upload the video again. i already have four videos up on youtube so i know that works fine (although the videos are shorter), and my vids are well within the 100meg/10 min limits that youtube imposes!! it either seems to be a problem with Orange B/B, or, even more likely and more bizarre, a problem with my pc (seeing as rebooting it fixes the problem). Help!
  2. ...leading on from the James Bond thread... Who was the best Doctor Who, and WHY! My favourite is Colin Baker - mad, eccentric and arrogant. Although hands down Tom Baker is THE Doctor Who
  3. PMSL i love those Japs!!!!
  4. excellent question. should have been a poll (now theres an idea).... ;) Sean Connery - THE Bond. Suave, doesnt take any sht. Brilliant. Roger Moore - Even more suave but wasnt all that menacing. Must be that damn eyebrow. Timothy Dalton - Eyebrows too thick but tough. Lacked sophistication of the other two. George Lazenby - his best line was "This never happened to the other fella." That's because they were good Bonds you muppet. Pierce Brosnan - Loved himself a bit too much but still a good Bond. We shall have to wait and see what the new lad has to offer :hyper:
  5. just coming back to the main problem - do you know what jets were put in? if 0.8mm (or smaller!  ) were put in then boost could easily have spiked to 18psi+ that would easily make your turbo go bang
  6. stock turbos, as long as they are in good condition, can handle 16psi comfortably (although your stock injectors have maxed out at 15ish and youll be running too lean). only EBCs or jets can increase boost (or bleed valves i think but i dont know much about them) - the chip is there mainly to map out the fuelling for any given boost level. 300dsh what work did zedworld do? did they install jets as well as the chip?
  7. come on Mr. Bunny, Bantam [esq.] this is right up your street! :D
  8. depends what boost youre running mate. have you got boost jets installed or an electronic boost controller? you could have had an aftermarket chip installed which was mapping good fuel for you, then you inadvertantly "chipped" it with an inferior one... but that wouldnt affect the turbo, that would just damage the engine.... [shuts up!]
  9. i fear that all these cards will be used for is another way to oppress the good law-abiding people of this country. yes they can be used to track down crims, but they have human rights and they wont get prosecuted. step a toe out of line, and you will. all the pieces move into place: "prevention of terrorism", "health & safety" and "political correctness" - these, and not some army fighting on the other side of the planet, are the weapons the government are using to adjust the once-great British nation to a slobbering, totally-dependant, honourless scum. you know what i mean, you see them pushing baby prams and wearing trackies. [soap box collapses]
  10. i'd love to see this. saw Superman yesterday and it was absolute shite :( aimed at a younger audience i presume
  11. 3 out of 4 for Retro :hyper: PMSL at Carl's! clue coming up later for the remaining one ;)
  12.  1 out of 4 for mick1 :nono:
  13. i meant the later ones...
  14. PMSL close, but 2 of them are wrong.
  15. oh yeah, think you know all about them then eh? :nelson: (and its C20XE ;) ) lol
  16. right ive dug out 4 photos of me (probably a bit drunk) - you need to answer the following questions: i) what's this an impression of? ii) what's this an impression of? iii) what is this device designed to do? iv) what do i think this is? PMSL as im writing this post! ah well i hope i can bring some fun and amusement to someone's day.
  17. sure you dont mean GTE? :D i wanted one of those as well, when i had my lovely C-reg 1.3 automatic astra. i was always arguing with my mate whether the GTE or the SRi was better. the GTE was 16v and the SRi was 8v - in the same way the Cav GSi was 16v and the Cav SRi was 8v. He wouldnt listen :headvswal
  18. unless used in the sense: "I just brought it [from where it was] [to here]" but BTTT, I always fancied a Calibra while I had my Cav GSi (spookily enough ive just posted about that about 2 mins ago!). Really wanted the 4x4 Turbo but a 2.0 16v would have done me. Lets just say I skipped that part out and went for something a lot meatier! :hyper:
  19. PMSL at this - just dug up this text file that was saved on my PC - a wish list for mods to my poor old Cavalier GSi 2000 (thats now probably in bits somewhere overseas). Shows how naive you lads think sometimes.
  20. like the second one, controversial but funny.
  21. well ollie answered your last two questions perfectly. it is the Power Transfer (or is it Transistor?) Unit. seeing as youve been doing some work under there, make sure that either of the plugs either side (top and bottom if you have a series 1 like in the picture) have not been knocked loose. i managed to do this while i was working on my radiator last year and the car sounded like a helicopter (and fired on 2 cyls) until i plugged it back in properly :o
  22. sounds like the PTU that Andy mentioned above. do you know if your PTU is a series 1 or series 2, as the series 1 is prone to cutting out, usually at the worst time.
