  1. can anyone explain this one to me? first thing in the morning when its quite cold, the Z will run at temperatures between 190 and 200 degrees F (87-93 C) after she's warmed up on the way to work. when its the evening, and recently its been quite warm and pleasant, the Z will run between 180 and 190 degrees F on the way home (82-87 C) ...being read from an aftermarket water gauge. is there anything weird going on here or not?
  2. kind of solved itself really. the gurgling has gone  and the running temp has come down slightly, though it still acts a bit weird. im gonna post up a new thread about that. ive been needing to top up the water very slightly - say a quarter of a pint every 100 miles.
  3. :mac1: :mac1: no form of torture is too sick for gene pool defects like these. wtf did they punch her for? im sure a gang of kids could have got the bag off her
  4. yeah and how long ago!? it was the 2nd toby carvery in coventry! august was it? blimey. saved a packet in petrol tho!
  5. im normally farting about around oadby/wigston. not been running it for ages as ive been having post-rebuild problems with it, including water problem too, but ive been using it daily for work to put some mileage on it.
  6. i agree - this is my favourite subaru, from here on they just went too curvacious. the new one looks like a rover 45
  7. not seen your white Z around at all, you had it long mate? Leicester was once the Z capital of the UK - sparse as owt now.
  8. cant remember the reg mate. no i live further along, i pass thru wigston on the way to work. like i said ive never seen this one before. where abouts are you?
  9. i can see something going wrong with your engine if you install that piece of sh!t. cant afford to skimp on price with EBCs mate. good price on the profec though

  12. great to hear from you mate! dont suppose you know someone else who emigrated from Leic to Oz called Adam do you? i used to work with him.
  13. nah, thats 'dropping the kids off' gypsy's kiss = piss
  14. yeah im not taking any risks after the amount of cash ive spent on it recently. the only annoying thing is the tw*ts who expect me to floor it onto a clear road, then tailgate me when i dont, like a cat playing with a mouse. just this evening on the way back from work this audi saloon (dont think its an RS tho) was up my arse all the time - all i could do was bring it up to 4k on about 4psi. i was so tempted to snap the profec up to 14 and say fook it, but i didnt. im sure we both work at the same place, so in a couple of months time, i'll have a little surprise for him, bwuhahahahaha!!!!!!
  15. is that Thatcham approved?
  16. ffs it seems to be taking forever to run my engine in - although its been off the road for long spells over the last few months. that strange AIV gurgle sound coming from below the engine seems to have gone and the running temp has dropped by a few degrees so it sounds like it could have been an airlock like some of you suggested in my thread. she's now running 184-200 deg f (84-93 deg c). apart from the fooked rear wheel bearings that are going to fail me my MOT if i dont get them sorted, i need to get my suspected manifold boost leak sorted. give it another 2 months or so then it's 17psi time :duffer::dance::hurl::nana2:

  20. nah theyre dull during the day. can barely make them out when theyre on, even with your hands cupped and face right up to it. look chuffin gorgeous in the dark though!
  21. noticed a few spots of oil now and then on the road, only seems to be when ive been reversing and steering at the same time  car doesnt get through mega amounts of oil, but i did need to top it up a little this morning. would it be coming from the steering somewhere? its black oil, and the power steering fluid level hasnt moved since i bought the car, lol!
