  4. tw@t! i just love people who blame others when its impossible to be anyone else's fault but their own! :headvswal id check your Z thoroughly cos you never know what damage may have been caused ;)
  5. following on from the reclassification of the humble teacake to a 'cake', and someone sending me this fantastic link: http://www.nicecupofteaandasitdown.com/ i got wondering what really defines what is a biscuit and what is a cake... yeah i know some say if it goes hard when stale its a cake and when it goes soft when stale its a biscuit, but surely its not as simple as that. maybe something that's ready to eat in one piece is a biscuit (which would keep teacakes in the biscuit category and therefore unfortunately still VATable), and something that you need to slice away from a larger object is a cake. warning: ive not thought this through to completion... what does everyone think? :slap:
  6. you could probably go to 60 and back to 0 before he hits 60

  10. two bits of chewing gum on a stick would be better than stock! :D seriously though im not sure about fitment but i can imagine them being better
  11. wish id read this thread first - im having a crack at this too. waited about 10 mins at idle and giving it a few revs when the oil pressure came down. got bored, put the cap on and went for a 5 min drive, came back, gently took cap off - water was hot but not boiling, waited another 10 mins at idle/gentle revs here and there up to abou 4k. started to rain. got bored. gave up. didnt think about the aircon :headvswal :headvswal
  12. i have to agree, ice white cars a gorgous. that Mine's GTR at the start is gobsmackingly sexy!!!
  13. like it (the advert that is)! check out the Sean Connery one too! nicely done
  14. your question's been pretty much answered above. just thought id add my 2p-worth :) if youre looking for reliability but a bit of extra poke then a new zorst, conical intake, boost increase (via EBC or boost jets as theyre called over here ;) ) and an appropriate chip will be all you need. the first thing is to make sure that the engine is in good condition, or else all you'll be doing is sending the car to its grave earlier! as said above, the chip is probably the last thing to worry about - get the mechanical bits sorted first, then select a chip (or have one burned for you) that suits your mods - it can be tweaked as much or as little as you want to get the best performance. if you'll be driving the car hard, then think about cooling (uprated rad), brakes, and probably clutch, but if youre just looking for a bit of thrill off the lights now and then, then stock rad/clutch will get you by (up to about 350-380bhp) in terms of boost jets - the common sizes are 1.2mm, 1mm and 0.8mm, the smaller the size, the more boost. these are cheap as chips (the potato ones ;) ) but can spike easily (that is, they dont govern boost like an electronic boost controller can) and at full throttle a 14psi jet could give you a little too much! bang!

  17. Happy Birthday Sarah :duffer: :duffer:
  18. she had the rad filled recently, as the front pipes has rusted away to nowt, thats all i can think of. will check the water level and have another look shortly. edit - level was nearly to the top, i'll have to run her with the cap off to see any air out.
  19. collected my car yesterday. while the engine is idling there's a sound exactly like AIV gurgle coming not from the nearside wing but from what sounds like the bottom of the centre of the engine. my AIVs were removed ages ago! she holds boost ok and drives fine, albeit i only run a few psi while im running her in. engine temp is a tad warmer than normal too. any ideas?
  20. great to hear from you mate - blimey I didnt realise Eliza was in that bad shape - youve been looking after her for ages! good luck with her mate!
